Where are the Stays? Anyone. 👋. Tell us if you have a favorite part of the song, or how this song makes you feel? We wanna know your thoughts. ~ Tazzz n Philly ~
One thing Stray Kids (and their music) have done is help me through my recovery and depression. Without them, I might not even be here. I owe them a lifetime of gratitude.
I'm a Thunderous Stay, found them in 2021, went down the rabbit hole and never looked back. 2022 was a difficult year for me personally, and having SKZ and stayville, it really helped me through it. Got to see them in 2023 and it was amazing. Easily in my Top 5 concerts (and i've been to a lot of concerts).
I discovered Stray Kids by accident and instantly loved the energy I got from their music. I’m an older Stay and when I first heard God’s Menu I was in a place of uncertainty and was experiencing depression. Their music has been inspiring and instrumental in helping me overcome and cope with my depression. I am so grateful that just by chance TH-cams feed recommended that MV.
Me too! I think I saw something on yt with Ryan Reynolds about Deadpool and was curious. I saw their London concert then and since my musical tastes are all over the place, I was instantly drawn to them from their live performance and energy. Ate dropped just after that and I was hooked. Instant Stay! I devoured as much of their music as I could then deep dived in their personality or SKZ videos and just found them to be so funny, talented, and hardworking! I was kind of going through a tough time and was struggling but they brought a sense of fun and their energy helped readjust my thoughts. They’re just so good!!
OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!! SO GOOD to see you on another Stray Kids reaction!!! This song is actually off their recent album directed towards their Japanese market, and thus, the mv doesn't have English subtitles. I highly recommend looking up the lyrics bc there's tons of cool wordplay. Also, as you noticed, Giant is one of their signature hype-style songs encouraging tenacity, growth, and the importance of teamwork in order to achieve success. Rather than declaring themselves to be extraordinary superstars, they are comparing themselves to carpenter ants ("people think i'm big but i'm small"). Separately, they are small creatures searching for their own special talents (the golden eggs), but when they work hard together, (also like ants), they are able to create something greater. They become GI-ANTS (pun intended) able to master the elements and crush obstacles. I hope you will do more Stray kids reactions!!! They literally make my day. I'm a 50-year-old fan of literally everything about stray kids. At a basic level, they have revitalized my life and brought magic and creativity back into it. They have a brand new album (their 3rd since July) coming out on Friday, Dec 13th, and will release an mv for the title track called Walking on Water that day. Reacting to the mv might help you get back into the algorithm for STAYs❤. ALSO!!! If you like dark December content, you MUST watch their mv called Christmas Evel. It's an absolute fantastic cult classic for fans😂❤.
Helloooooo again, Erica. 😏 What a great, educational, and informative comment. Thank you for your breakdown of this song. I didnt envision the carpenter ant, Gi-ant idea, but now get it. Kudos for upcoming song suggestion. ~ Tazzz ~
I'm a 69 years old grandmother who has become a stay. I'm dealing with Cancer and I just lost my younger sister and Stray Kids have kept me moving and enjoying life since I found them 3 years ago. I'm Grammy Stay ❤❤
Hiiiii granny stay!! Gosh Im so glad you found these boys and so have I in my hard times... I bet you theyre thinking about us always as the stays we are! Love to you!!!!
What I love most about SKZ is their genuine "voices". Since they write their own discography they immediately have a much more personal connection to their music and messge. They touch on topics that everyone can relate to in various points in their life. "Grow Up", "Haven", and "19" are some of my favorites to listen to when I'm feeling discouraged or frustrated. Han & Changbin especially write very mature, self-aware lyrics. "Secret Secret" and 'Lost Me" are so personal. Aside from that, I haven't heard them try any genre where they haven't killed it. They're so versatile. I am SO EXCITED for their new album on Friday!!!! I can't wait to see what sound they bring us next!
I love their wordplay and imagery too! I feel like the song is about their own growth. During interviews, they are quite humble so they talk about all the people who’ve paved the way for them and that they still have so much to do, even though they’ve been breaking records and selling out stadium concerts and have collaborated and made friendships with some high profile people. In their music often they hype up their talent (deservedly so) but they may still see themselves as small (like the opening verse). And in the pre-chorus they’re making the shift. So “they call us god of gods…” but it’s to benefit someone else, so they’re reclaiming their power and are going to move forward in their own way. The golden eggs are their goals and dreams, which come together to become that super-egg that Bang Chan is holding. They’ve been grinding to reach them. Now people are telling them how “giant” they are but they’re still small (ants) and working hard to get to their goals of “getting big” and becoming gi-ants (not sure if that was intentional or not). They work together like ants must to reach a common goal, which is a theme of theirs. Like in God’s Menu one of the symbols is a racing pit crew. The driver may be the face that people know, but the driver couldn’t succeed without the collective hard work of the whole crew and they are clear that they think they are stronger because of how they work together. So each person gets their time to shine while everyone works together too. That’s how they grow into giants (or titans if you think back to the Mountains MV). They each find their golden egg and they merge them together and we may not see the transition but it happens. When they’re in the white outfits (out of their ant-mining clothes) I think is when the transition is complete. And they’re going to keep reaching for more and growing. In the bridge they talk about going all over the world and growing into this “giant” and it’s tough but they will keep going, keep creating and growing and that’s how they will become giants.
I love their self-confidence. They know what they want and are doing everything to get to the top and achieve their goals. The music is so uplifting and positive and that is very appealing also. For me, their music has been like a light in a dark tunnel. Their humanity, their humor, their beautiful voices are so appealing and just make me feel loved as a Stay. I can listen to any of their songs and just makes my day especially if I am not in a great mood. Thank you so much for this reaction! They really are GIANTS!! Stray Kids Everywhere All Around the World!! ❤
What stray kids do for me is have them to go to. Once I got into them I wondered to myself how I went through my day without them. Their pure selfs of humility and selflessness also draws me to them every single day. I was metaphorically lost in what artist to support and listen to. My friend finally got me to reconsider them and I have never looked back to before. They are dropping another album on Friday and I can’t wait.
