Visited yesterday. It was a wonderful experience for me. I have taken this ride for granted and promised to myself that from next time onwards I will never use an Ola/Indrive/ bus to reach Howrah/ Sealdah station.
Ola, Uber, Indrive are waste of money and buses are waste of time. Before the metro, trams were considered to be convenient transport between Kolkata and Howrah Station. Although trams stopped running in Howrah Bridge for more than 30 years I wonder how we travelled in those 30 years between Kolkata and Howrah Station. A metro was badly needed because buses in Kolkata are rusty old and takes a lot of time to reach a destination and the app cab and the yellow taxis they charge too much. This is a masterpiece of Indian Railway by building a metro beneath the river bed.
is there a crossover between Esplanade and Sealdah station, if yes , is it possible to run commercial services through one tunnel at a low speed till the second tunnel work is complete so atleast salt lake is also connected
Any update on Kolkata metro’s yellow line Noapara to Barasat via Jessore Road and Kolkata Airport? What about Birati, Michel Nagar, New Barrackpore, Madhyamgram, Hridaypur and Barasat metro stations?
Now that this has finally opened, really need to think about an underground Metro serving the north of Howrah (especially Belur Math) from either Howrah Maidan or Howrah station (but knowing how slow the pace of construction is for the Kolkata Metro, that'll probably take years or decades to plan & build, so its wishful thinking at best), especially as there's a plan already in place to extend the Green Line to the south of Howrah and a north Howrah line will massively benefit people visiting Belur Math & help decongest the narrow GT road in those areas. But anyway, so glad to finally see the underwater stretch open at last even if the line still isn't fully complete yet (need to get the Esplanade-Sealdah gap finished) - I hope to ride it the next time I visit Kolkata & good video as well.

why is the announcer voice different for green line? i believe blue, purple and orange lines have the same announcer voice which was a beautiful voice of a lady doing all 3 languages
Extreme curves. The train takes a left from Esplanade to Mahakaran, then a left to Howrah, and again a left to Howrah Maidan. Curves slow down the travel speed quite a lot. Still significantly faster than what it would take to cover the distance on road.
The announcement of stations are very bad, it should be first in bengali, then hindi then English. Also why suddenly male speaker for hindi? And honestly the hindi songs played is the most irritating and disgusting thing we face, it ruins the journey and the comfort.

Can u make an informative video about how ppl are facing an extreme situation who are getting paper tickets from Howrah, which is not working in Esplanade or any other station of blue line. Because, the software of AFC gates of blue line and green line are not at par. Due to this reason, there is a huge queue at Esplanade station which is beyond control. As a good metro blogger, u should also focus on what ppl are facing in reality instead of uploading the same glossy story again and again.
Not going to do the job, need to extend this line till santragachi railway station via Shalimar station, you can't leave 2 big railway stations of the city without metro connectivity while you are removing all southbound express trains out of Howrah
