I love this fruit. The problem is that you have to scoop it out and not bite directly into the fruit. Otherwise, you will get this white line above and around your lips. The white stuff around the edge of the fruit is like glue. It sticks to your skin.
it's not matured enough.,that is a very nice and sweet fruit,,if matured enough very soft to open.,and don't have the white like glue
The white stuff is the natural latex in the skin.
It's not yet ripe enough if there's latex when you eat it.

We call this fruit kymit which might be a shortened version of kaimito. It is sweet and delicious just as it is, doesn't need a thing added to it.

In the Philippines, we don't have to use a knife to cut the fruit open. When it's truly ripe it's soft, juicy and naturally sweet. There's no need to add milk, too. We call this fruit "caimito/kaymito."

In the Philippines it is called kaimito. My grandma used to have a tree. We sometimes mixed in milk and sugar with the flesh and refrigerate before eating.

Costa Rica. Caimitos, también hay "blanco" es de un verde claro por fuera y la pulpa es blanca. Igual delicioso que el morado. Pero ella los cogió verdes, así están duros y tienen mucha resina.
For the ones wondering (if there is any) this fruit is actually original from Tropical America and it's spanish name is Caimito, which is an Arawak word, probably Taíno
