Seafood and the scenery are fantastic in PEI. Moncton, NB has the bay of Funny at Hopewell Rocks which has the world's highest tide and low tide height difference. Don't miss that as well.

There is an interesting goodwill story I would like to share from that explosion you talked about at Halifax harbor during WW1. After the explosion, hundreds of nurses and doctors from Boston volunteered their services and sailed into Halifax with plenty of medical and food supplies to take care of the victims, many of whom were burned from the fires. The explosion occurred around Christmas. Every Christmas since, Nova Scotia sends a Christmas tree to Boston as a gift of thanks. The tradition continues to this day even though the cost of trucking a tree has become quite expensive.
