It's kinda amazing that in 2022 this is still a missing feature. The most amazing thing is that Adobe adds these half-a**ed features and then just hope the community will fix them -_-

What if I want each page has different color of QR code?

That is much harder and would require its own script. The potential for scope creep is huge, so it isn't something I would freely build but instead charge by the hour as a bespoke project

Since I wrote my last comment, I've discovered a way of doing this that makes this script somewhat obsolete. See this article over on InDesignSecrets.com: indesignsecrets.com/changing-colors-during-a-data-merge.php

Heeey, very cool script which helps me a lot :) One question (yes i know the video is already a few years old but i hope you see it anyway). What could be the problem when the datamergefile that is created in the end, is totally empty? everything else is working.
Thy anyway for the script and tutorial video! You are my hero :D 4 Years later its still not possible in InDesign :(

Hello there. I've received your DM and responded to you there, but for anyone else reading this, the script is somewhat deprecated by another method that is written up by me over at InDesignSecrets.com - the article is here: indesignsecrets.com/creating-colored-qr-codes-during-a-data-merge.php

This video has now been made out of date thanks to a better technique that I've written up over at CreativePro: creativepro.com/creating-colored-qr-codes-during-a-data-merge/
