While I only saw him in his Dracula character, he has always left a haunting aura and so I have been looking into more of his films. I think this is the best Lugosi tribute out there (I totally agree with you that he is underrated, I think most people just remember him as Draculababove all else, which is a shame). I really enjoyed this video and it did showcase his level and talent as an actor, so thank you for this amazing video in his honour ❤
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it and please do explore more of his films-- his presence always make them worthwhile but in particular Son of Frankenstein, White Zombie and The Black Cat are just great films in their own right!
Amazing video, thank you! I'm excited, I'm getting my car back in a few hours.. It's been in the shop for 3 days getting a wrap placed on the roof of Bela
Até nos dias de hoje, me arrepio!! Belas imagens!! Você lembrou, parabéns!! Beijos e felicidades!! Artes dramáticas ( teatro para cinema )... o ator mostrava todo seu TALENTO!!
This video is a true masterpiece! I watched it in utter reverence. What wonderful edits, transitions and set to a brilliant choice of music. Thank you for making & sharing it! I'm adding it to my Béla playlist. Fans: search Photos Disprove Béla Lugosi Hated BK at The Truth About Boris Karloff. Biographers tarnished his image with lies, I have restored it for posterity. Read and share, please!
Wow. This is incredible. Bela is someone I've only recently grown to appreciate and you really did him justice with this beautiful video. The music was incredibly haunting (this song always reminds me of "Pretty in Pink") and fitted Bela so well. I particularly loved your use of voiceovers, particularly towards the end of the video as the song reached it's emotional peak. It really brought across what a tremendous presence and intensity he had on-screen. I recently listened to the "You Must Remember This" podcast about Boris & Bela and they highlighted that Bela's career post-Dracula was very much about trying to recreate that original magic. I felt like that really came across in this video, with the parallels to the infamous close-up of Bela's eyes and the numerous vampire roles he had afterwards (that tried to emulate that same cinematography and production style). Just an observation that I felt was accentuated by your editing and choice of clips here. This was such a wonderful overview of his entire acting career and you should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished here. People who love Bela will be blown away by this video- as I was- and feel it is incredibly appropriate for all that he was. I also think it will no doubt be equally engrossing and intriguing for those unfamiliar with Bela's work. Your months and months of work was definitely not in vein
I thought I had replied to this-- thank you so so much. You know your feedback means the world to me and this is more positive than I could have imagined. Thank you for the podcast rec and I'm so glad you always see the parallels I am trying to draw that, in spite of how differing his roles could be and how great his range, there's always something very Bela and distinctively him uniting them all. Thank you so much Laura x
Beware of "podcasts" which only rehash lies crafted by Béla haters aka "biographers" to make the other guy look like a saint. Please educate yourselves as Béla fans. I have exposed biographers lies, tactics and machinations at in 3 articles posted in July 2018 at The Truth About Boris Karloff. I offer proof in legal docs, photos, videos, book excerpts & more! Question everything. Type "Biographers lies" in search box or click pix at right column and take it from there. Examine the evidence that a podcast cannot offer, and which biographers have quashed and or lied about, and make up your own mind. Bela Lugosi was a great man. Sadly, the other? Not so much! Biographer aka Béla haters & BK fanboys flip flopped all that. I show exactly how and why, but you will have to read 3 entries and watch videos. Enjoy the perspective of TRUTH, with era evidence.
