I was always the tallest in my class in elementary school and I took pride in that! But after I reached 5'1 in 3rd grade, I didnt grow after that and now every ones like 5'6 and 6ft :/

Out in the world, an inch height difference is hardly noticeable. Posture, terrain, the angle of view, even the build of each individual can make them appear equal or in some cases the actual shorter individual can appear to be the taller.
Posture is the biggest factor IMO: a 5ft10 guy with optimal posture, a 6ft0 guy with poor posture and even a 6ft1 guy with abysmal posture all can look 5ft11.

Most people wear shoes that add the same amount of height and these days terrain is always flat due to pavement. Angle of view? Lol. An inch difference is noticeable. Don’t get me started on 2 inches. Because trust me. 5’10 and 6ft is a very noticeable difference lol. And the only way a shorter person can appear taller than a taller person is if they’re wearing lifts and/or the taller person has really bad posture. Most people have the same posture though.

@@BETA00009 I am speaking about movies and still images from them as far as the angle thing goes I stand by my post regardless. Some people wear cowboy boots that give you two inches. Running shoes can give you a bit over an inch while converse and boat shoes dont even give you an inch. As far as posture, it varies greatly by the person.
So I don’t know it helps anyone but here:
-Girls grow until their 18 maximum
-Most girls grow about 1/2-1 inch after their first period and stay at that height (so not always until 18, you might stop growing earlier)
-Guys grow until they are 21 (not always but you can hope)
-At the end of the days it’s not you who is _too_ tall, they are just too short. It’s not you who is _too_ short, they are just too tall.

Depending on head or forehead size:
0" Difference = Eye to Eye
1" Difference = Roughly eye to eye/eyes above eyebrows
2" Difference = Roughly eye to nose tip/eyes near lining
3" Difference = Roughly eye to lips/eyes around head peak
4" Difference = Roughly eye to chin/eyes just above head
5" Difference = Roughly eye to mid neck/eyes well over head
Or for 1" you could say eyes to center of nose bridge or eyes to eyebrows

Also everyone's forehead size is different from one individual from one to another unfortunately. These are just rough estimates, like what Rob points out.

Honestly in most cases 1 or even 2 inches height difference is not noticeable bcoz of various factors like your posture, body proportion, hairstyle the main significant difference starts from like 3 or 4 inches

One inch is a lot. Europeans think in meters and centimeters. One centimeter is no visible difference at all, it’s approximately a 2/5th of an inch.

@@RobPaul I bet it would be. I´m at least, 185 cm when out of the bed, around at least, 184 cm at midday/afternoon and a little more than 183 cm when going to the bed. Clearly above the average on my country (Portugal). I have met 190 cm and 194 cm guys (and taller, but these ones I see more often) and particularly at around 189/190/191 cm I really start to notice well the difference . I know also guy that has 188 cm and the difference is obviously not so evident, although I can perceive that he is taller than me, for most of the times.. Only when the 194 cm guy looks down, I feel almost at the same level. But other than that, I feel quite shorter than him (the top of my head is maybe around his eyebrows (according to a picture on a wedding, on which he had almost the same shoes and posture)). I think that I even start to perceive that a person is taller than me, when the difference starts from 2 cm.
Many people unconsciously use eye level height differences as a visual indicator of differences in height, , despite the fact that some people have higher foreheads than others. Some people also perceive the shoulder height as a quick way to assess visually height differences (at the street). But of course that both these ways, can be often fallible, albeit it are very commonly used among some social groups.

When I go to college most athletes are 6ft 4 - 7ft +, the average height In the U.K. is 5ft 9/10 but tbh the average height in my college (without being an athlete) is like 6ft 2+ I feel really small there that’s all.

Celebheights listings tend to be close to their low, typical ¼ inch above their low, so about 6-7 mm

When i graduated high school in 1986 i was 5ft 10 when i went to high school reunion folks freaking out i was 6ft 9 inches they asked what happened i jumped up three years after high school. There's nobody taller than me in my family my father was 5ft 8 and mom 5ft 2. I got two sons one is 5ft 10 the other 6ft there mother is 5 ft 9. Everyone wants to be taller i will tell u clothes are expensive for tall folks. Just love u self for whatever height u are god made u go with it short tall medium really no perfect life but make the most of what u got.

Hmmm, your eye level will be at someone’s lips if they are 4 inches taller than you. And at 3 inches different your eye level will be just below their nose. Of course this is an estimate different people have different forehead size etc

I've been measured a bunch or times and I measure to 1.85 point something to 186cm barefoot. So like 6'1ish. So that's what I claim to be and I still find it crazy that people that are noticeably shorter than me claim to be 6 foot or 6'1.. I just laugh at them

@@jozyt857 it's hard to tell, because i was 5' when I was 13 and didnt reach 6' until I was 17 and 6'1 when I was 19. Everyone is different. You could be anywhere from 5'10-6'3, or maybe even taller since your mum is a pretty good height, but who knows for sure.
