Hey bud i tried to take the airbox cover off the 400ex and it didnt seem to help with sputtering... But then i realized its when the throttle is closed as it decelerates so i think i need to gain access to the idle fuel air screw and throw a richer pilot jet in it? Maybe not but everyone i talk to says it needs about a 45 pilot when im running a 42. Its close its running fast and has the good pull but my ocd wont let me stop until i can pull that wheelie, get it to 3rd + and let off completely without a sputter slowing down. Thanks for all the input and illnlet ya know when i figure out the sweet spot
I use a hot plate and they fall right out. You should get one. Honestly I use the cheap ones, so do allot of other xc guys. I've been told by some people in the industry, the bearings are all the same. I use the niche ones and I a line start case I use with 20 bearings.
honestly theyre all about the same to me . ive paid 200$ for aftermarket carriers that lasted a season and some failed the first race . ive rebuilt them and got the same result and ive bought the 75$ tusk getting the same results over time . some will blow out the first race and some shock you by lasting the whole season . so at the point to me we pay over price for a name brand within the industry to get the same results with a cheaper part . i check them after every ride anyways and always keep back ups incase just so i dont miss a race . also ive taken the LSR carrier apart and it had the same brand bearings as the tusk . so i was like them MFERS are ripping us off lol
I seen the same thing. If I was to say that on video I'd have 500 people tell me I'm wrong. I think it comes down to some parts are made on a Monday and the quality is in the dumps, some parts are made by a guy that's going through personal problems and it carries into his work, and some parts are made by someone having a good day. I hope that made sense
Very thorough brother! Carrier looked like a million bucks when you were done! Had me nervous having it clamped in the vice though!
Thanks bro, It was just barely clamped down.
I'm watching from Mozambique 🇲🇿
