I have a theory. Maybe they perhaps were approached by netherrealm Studios and told to keep it hush hush because it was being worked on as mk11 was coming out. Now that mk11 has been out for a year it may be a good time to stir the pot so to speak. Probably because they felt it could potentially affect the Integrity of mk11 when it came out.
hope this gets a physical release. I also hope the Original arcade games are also playable. Hope the Krypt is filled with with John Tobias artwork (Hell i even hope for an collectors edition with a massive artbook with reprints of the comics)
MK4/Gold was HIGHLY underrated. MK4 and Deadly Alliance were my favorites out of the 3D era. I still remember when I first played MK4 in the arcade and being blown away when you roundhouse kick your opponent, they twirl in the air and the camera did a full spin with it. That was a really nice touch.

Isn’t Trilogy just UMK3 with the added sprites from MK1 and MK2? Trilogy always seemed pointless to me when it came out. Almost like a parody of the franchise...and it was broken balance wise

Wish they'd give us a complete collection. They've release the first three games countless times (including the really bad 1-3 collection from the previous generation that featured unfixed bugs such as your character being unable to move for a full second after you unpause the game) but have ignored MK4-all the stuff through the Xbox/PS2 era. I know those games aren't as well regarded as the originals but they should still be collected in some form. MK4, MK4 Gold, Mythologies Sub-Zero, Shaolin Monks, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon... all need re-releases. I'll forgive them if they don't do anything with Special Forces though.
Agreed. Capcom did re-released many classic Street Fighter games on all the consoles. NRS never did re-released MK Arcade Kollection on PS4 and Xbox One. NRS didn't add MK4 to MK Arcade Kollection because of the Zeus chip from the arcade machine.
A base game in the style of UMK3 and alternative game modes for MK 1, 2, and 3 (each with variations or limitations) would be interesting. Like in MK 2 mode, you can only access strictly MK 2 content like the old MK 2 roster or arcade paths, but in UMK/normal mode, you can see everything available. Like you might get MK 1 Liu Kang vs MK 3 Kabal in the normal mode. Would also really like retroactive roster additions like Ermac, Tremor, or characters like Havok.
Nothing can beat the rhythm and snappiness and simpleness of MK2 arcade version on playstation! There was no combos programmed conciously!! And tha snappy arcade style randomness gave the whole new generation combos! It is among the new mk s on live player fights because the rhytm and fluid and clear simple feedback snappiness! Try it out with your friend!Maybe you will be surprised! I hope there will be online community fighters whom play around that simply genuine game!

I hope we get an Injustice remaster with a prequel based on the comics and a chapter which is technically IJ3 and more characters like Killer Croc and Beast Boy.
I wish netherrealm would release a single player game that resembles konquest mode where you created a character from one of the realms who must journey the different realms. You're home realm should determine your characters main goal.
