So needed to hear this today. Yesterday, I had a 20 year friend tell me I shouldn’t speak on things or question critical race theory because I’m white. Broke my heart. Love what she said here, “at some point, you just have to stand for truth.”
Glad you had Monique on to discuss this topic. There really is no room for forgiveness or tolerance of different world views within the critical theory framework so it will never lead to unity or reconciliation.
This is my first introduction to Allie Beth Stuckey and this is such a great conversation. As a black Christian female, I have to say I totally agree with everything Allie and Monique voiced here and I'm so grateful for how they brought clarity to some really nuanced and sensitive topics with love and truth. Looking forward to sharing this with my liberal, unsaved dad (who happens to be from Zimbabwe), stepmother, and others. Can't wait to follow up with an open and loving conversation about it all.
I think pastors/the church are vulnerable to this ideology because they are already on a trajectory of trying to appeal to the world by being culturally "relevant". You can see this by their emphases, what they preach on and don't, and what sins they're willing to overlook in the church. I believe they're accepting the CRT ideology because they want to appeal to unbelievers, as well as young Christians who hold it. They have completely forgotten that the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing, but the power of God to those being saved, that Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world, that our job is to dismantle worldly ideologies that oppose themselves to Christ. They're also naive and undiscerning and don't bother to investigate this worldview in light of Scripture; they just think it sounds good because on a surface level it has some of the same concerns and emphases as Christianity, so it seems like a good thing to take on board as a touchpoint with the culture. However, people aren't saved or discipled by believing a Christianized version of worldly philosophy, they're saved and discipled by the gospel and the word of God.
Yes, I was talking to a friend whose son& daughter in law got married by a pastor, it was a very Christ oriented ceremony. I happen to know they do t even go to church anymore and especially she (he, less so, I believe)is really buying into all this white supremacy stuff. Recently my friend complained about all these young people “leaving” the church in droves (I believe she was insinuating “over social justice issues”, (a very large umbrella there, btw). The scriptures has everything g we need. Should we change our beliefs to reign in young people. I don’t believe so. Stand fast in love, truth, mercy. God’s work to bring them back; not ours. Incidentally, heard these changes coming to CA: th-cam.com/video/-daT77MJ36U/w-d-xo.html 😳😳😳
Very well said, the Church is charged by Jesus Himself to proclaim the Gospel and teach us to obey all His commands. That and that alone is our mission. The message is what it is and we like the prophets are accountable to proclaim it but if they don't believe we are not held responsible for that. As I told my friend when I came to Christ, it wasn't a get out of hell card that changed me it was entering into the new life that changed me. We offer only Christ to a dying world because the answer to death has always been life which of course He is.
This was SO good. I’ve already shared it with friends and family. I have to say, my husband is an empath & musician. A former nominal catholic who converted to Christianity about 30ish years ago. He always wanted to have (be) a kind of church his friends would relate to. Very social justice oriented. Very “passion driven”. He went to seminary on the west coast and I really think that’s where he got some more left leaning social justice leaning professors and fellow students, and became very alienated from the churches that we attended. Very critical of pastors who saw us (Christians) vs “the world”. Culture wars etc. in the last year, we started attending a new church and recently the pastor is really delving into racism & white privilege. They are having “Be the Bridge” small groups, etc., it seems; taking for granted that every cop killing reflects racism, I’m VERY uncomfortable with the direction this is going; my husband finally feels like he’s found his people. We disagree about systemic racism, standing/kneeling for the flag...I’ve heard him talk against the patriarchy (makes me so sad)...these are really strange times indeed. He thinks white Christians should somehow help to heal or bear the responsibility of past sins against blacks whose ancestors were slaves. I’m more of an individual to individual person. He thinks there’s a standard where the Bible agrees with generational sin. I think this CRT ideology could be the undoing of the church. I just see it as so destructive.
Talking against patriarchy is like telling God you don't like His system at the most basic point. It will destroy the idea of family and isn't that exactly what Satan would like to happen?
I’m appreciative of this conversation. It’s refreshing to hear, particularly in a time when the conversation we’re having as a society doesn’t necessarily seem to be biblically informed. I, myself, can admit that I have been influenced by this theory and am grappling with questions of how it may contradict the biblical world view that I desire to have. While I’m very appreciative of these types of conversations, I still have a lot of questions. I do believe racism exists and is an issue of the heart that perhaps some, not all, people have not yet to confront. I have experienced racism first hand. Not in the sense of “I feel like that was racism”. I was actually called the n word. I’m wondering how we as a church can address the sin of racism while at the same time exposing the problematic nature of what is the topic of this specific podcast. I haven’t seen a lot of pastors address racism as an issue of the heart that also calls for repentance. I don’t have all the answers and I’m realizing I most likely have to unlearn certain things, but these are just some of my thoughts. I’d love to hear other people’s perspective as well:)
THANK YOU for this interview. I was nodding my head through the whole thing. As someone who will be giving birth to a mixed race child very soon, these movements are not just disheartening but frightening for the future of my son. They are only creating more division, anger, fear and disparity. They leave no room for forgiveness, mercy, compassion or individual responsibility. As Christians, we already face hostility from the current culture and I feel it will only get worse if these worldviews continue to permeate this country. Thank you for shining the light and truth of Christ on these topics.
I'm a mom of a (white) boy I gave birth to last year. We're in this together in slightly different ways, but I'm encouraged to know I'm not alone in wanting to parent the next generation to display Biblical humanity towards one another. I hope both our babies are part of a plan He has.

Question around 13:00, “The Coddling of The American Mind” really lays out why college students are embracing this framework/worldview. Highly recommend this book. Love you, Monique! Thanks for walking with me through this journey.
One of the best interviews i've watched on this topic. Really good specifically because it's from the perspective of former critical theory follower. A bit of much about political discourse, but likes it because of its 100% bible based discussion.
Loving this interview, thank you! In 1st year studies and getting CRT in module content and the news, knowing it doesn't gel with biblical world view, but didn't have a formulated rebuttal. This is a good start. Thank you.
Great point about many pastors not going to seminary. Can you refer a resource with a list of the scriptures that can be helpful in conversations about this.
Beautiful and hopeful conversation, thank you both. Hopefully voices like yours will help avoid every version of tribal warfare we seem to always create anew.
Excellent interview both of you! Very helpful! Appreciate you both! We are reconciled through the cross of Christ and are in need of nothing more -- pure gold! God's word is sufficient!
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55: 6-11
Thank you for this interview, it is incredibly inspiring to hear both of you just thinking through this with honesty and dependence on the Bible, and with such clarity. It was amazing to be reminded that reconciliation, for a Christian person, has got to be central to what we're doing. To borrow a LOTR quote, your show is making me think: "Christian theology is back on the menu, boys (girls??)"
Thank you once again Allie, for bringing such great content. Really appreciate this conversation, for bringing more light than heat to such an important topic. You do great work.
This discussion is a breath of fresh air. I too try to see the world as brothers and sisters in Christ. It doesn’t mean I don’t have biases or things to learn, but it means my ultimate instruction comes from God and He shows me what adjustments I can make (and lets me know that I am OK...unlike what Critical Race Theory suggests).
Loved this interview and the ending where Allie touched on the dance many Christians begin to make when that take on the CRT perspective was dead on. All of a sudden they have to shift how they see biblical truths in order to justify that worldview. That has been my experience with many friends and relatives and as I say, I'm not willing to die on that hill.
I think CRT is a way for people to remove accountability for their own actions and sin. If they can put the blame on someone else, then they can continue to have an entitled mindset. I believe racism is very real and prevalent in the country but “White privilege” is not destroying Black communities. We do a good job of doing that on our own because of SIN.
I'm praying for the lost to get saved I'm praying for our brothers and sisters who are affected by the raging fires in CA, Co and cat 4 hurricane to be safe and their property and animals they desperately need our prayers please pray for them I'm praying for everyone everyday God bless you all
During the 80s and 90s there was a movement for unity at all cost; the cost of compromise of doctrine, standing on Scripture, behavior and the list goes on. I believe that ecumenical movement has contributed to our willingness to accept secular worldview within the church. Your thoughts?
So clear and SCRIPTURAL! SCRIPTURE MATTERS!! Thank you for the clarity! I would hope the Christians who believe in CRT, will see that they are being hog swaggered! The scripture encourages unity among the brethren! We don't need outsiders, ( of the body of Christ), to tell us how to address issues in our family!!
Thank you sisters.! It's not utopia Christ is building, Christ is the righteous judge. Bible is relevant in our times more than ever. God ruled Israel without king, taxes and just using judges for 400 years. We know what happened to Israel when they elected themselves a king and down went everything for them. Leaning on God and His kingdom principles are best any day.
Any time, in any circumstance, when a person is asked to define/describe a philosophy or theory, and they give you one or two sentences without mentioning a single key text or thinker who has contributed to that philosophy or theory, then you should question whether or not the person is giving their definition/description in good faith. There is absolutely no reason to be this vague about critical theory. This vagueness permits all manner of equivocations and misunderstandings, and allows critical theory to simply become a placeholder for any political or cultural phenomena that is loosely associated with "the left" that a person happens to find distasteful.
Inter-racial families should be part of this conversation. Tragically my son who was raised by me alone (because his father abandoned us) and was raised Christian has become a "black nihilist" and anarchist and has abandoned me. Believe me, I do not sense "white guilt". I gave my life to them and was in many ways a slave to them, but as Christ was also a servant to us. I grew up during the 60s and 70s when young people believed we'd overcome the worst of racism. Sadly someone, behind that curtain of Oz, switched the reset button. Please pray for Ben and that he'll come back to the God of his youth and his mom.

and my thoughts than your thoughts.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55: 6-11
This is EXCELLENT! Thank you so, so much. Loved it all.
This is incredible. God bless this woman Monique and thank you Lord for the work you've done in her heart and her boldness.
EXCELLENT! Thank you both! Great, informative conversation!!!!
Very helpful, insightful discussion. Thanks, sisters!
This was a really great episode. Very Helpful!!!
Thank you once again Allie, for bringing such great content. Really appreciate this conversation, for bringing more light than heat to such an important topic. You do great work.
Very good learning opportunity for professing christians and others. I've shared it on social media and I hope it's watched.
This was so very helpful! Thank you for posting!
Thank you so much for educating me. I really appreciate you taking time to teach about these very important biblical truths.
Great interview! As Allie said, I am disgusted that previously faithful ministers are teaching "a different gospel."
This is an awesome interview. Thank you ladies.
This was very helpful. I have been wrestling with how I'm supposed to respond as a believer.
Praying for you often Monique! When they start with ad hominim name-calling, you know you’re hitting a nerve and starting to have an effect.
Love this, also can't wait to read your book Allie
Can you please list the scriptures that your guest was speaking about. I need to read and study them. Thank you for an excellent interview
This is so encouraging. Grateful to the Lord for Monique.
God be the glory. This was a good conversation. I will share this with others.
@ 29:30 Monique hits the nail on the head!
Facts
I’m sharing this everywhere!
Thank you for standing for truth. I stand with you.
I'm praying for the lost to get saved I'm praying for our brothers and sisters who are affected by the raging fires in CA, Co and cat 4 hurricane to be safe and their property and animals they desperately need our prayers please pray for them I'm praying for everyone everyday God bless you all
This was an amazing interview.
She is excellent. Totally right on with scripture.
Great interview!
During the 80s and 90s there was a movement for unity at all cost; the cost of compromise of doctrine, standing on Scripture, behavior and the list goes on. I believe that ecumenical movement has contributed to our willingness to accept secular worldview within the church. Your thoughts?
What a great video! Thanks ladies! :)
"Where do you get this idea from Scripture?" Great question...
Nothing as enjoyable then hearing people who know and love Our God.
I finally get to say, great video for a change. So....great video.
God bless you two sisters🙌🏾🙏🏾♥️Appreciate your knowledge & wisdom..GLORY to GOD🙌🏾
I hope this woman runs for office.
What is the verse Monique is talking about in James that says you should “not put motives to the heart?”
I have sent this out to many friends!
Such truth, so good ladies! 👍🏽
Thank you Monique ♥️
Excellent video. I learned a lot! I have never really known anything about Critical Race Theory. I guess I have been out of the loop. It sound like a liberal theory that is rooted in confusion. God's plan is always the BEST!!!!
Great discussion , thank you..
As a Bible-believing follower of Christ, I'm feeling pretty oppressed right now.
Seriously
Good interview. Yes, no Forgiveness, no Peace.
Monique nailed it. Compassionate Christians not invested in the Word become highly susceptible to the ideology.
Great conversation
Excellent work ladies
Amen! When you aren’t wrapped up in the word, it’s easier to get wrapped up in the world !!!
