Lies came out in 2007. That's the song that made BIGBANG a household name in SK and reached listeners overseas. Their debut was in August 19, 2006. On their first year, they released 3 single albums. The first were We Belong Together and Fools Only Tears(MVs were released by the end of August). The songs were meant to separately showcase their abilities as rapline and vocal. While their 2nd singles LA-LA-LA and V.I.P were introduced on YG's 10th Anniversary concert, the same day as their debut. They released an MV of LA-LA-LA a few months later. Then the third singles were Goodbye Baby and Forever With U.
@@hallyureviewsus You'll find it in BIGBANG and YG entertainment channel. 😊 We Belong Together highlights the rappers, GD and T.O.P. The song was one of G-Dragon's remix of Mariah Carey's song. Forever With U was also based on the same song. Then the song Fools Only Tears highlights the voices of the vocal line. The MV is old and cringy, but quite understandable since they were young, and some old stuff that was trendy at that time can look cringy today.
If I may add that "Lies" was GD's song, but once he presented to YG at that time. YG gave it to Bigbang. TOP jokes about this few times on shows, that "Lies" is their song, it becomes famous because of Bigbang(trying to say that it wasn't famous because GD wrote it 🤣🤣🤣).
Thanks for reactions. If there is no rule against it, perhaps you could view the mv's that fans have added eng subs to, as BIGBANG lyrics are usually very good. It may not seem a radical song now, but this song changed how kpop was seen in Korea as up to then the charts were full of mid tempo ballads. It was the first song to musically express that "generations' emotions" but, because of its really strong melody (typical BIGBANG), other generations also liked it.
With the members following her around, I always thought of that as her conscience. Not leaving her in peace because of what she has done. And I believe back then the domestic violence laws weren’t the greatest so even though technically, she was protecting herself, she still would have gotten jail time for killing that man which is why he took the blame for it.
We LOVE that interpretation - that BIGBANG is her conscience! It really makes us watch that part of the video in a new light. And yes, domestic violence laws have certainly come a long way, so you are probably right about that. While we cannot condone GDragon taking the blame for a crime he did not commit, we can most definitely empathize with his desire to protect the woman he loves 💔
Thank you for these links! We are uploading our MAMA 2015 reaction Monday, if it does not get blocked! We have not taken a look at their MAMA 2010 performance, yet!
