This channel is WAY too underrated. Videos are short and straight to the point, no yapping at any point, just perfection. Keep it up

This is very interesting. What causes Astatine to be so unstable in the first place?

    • @flydrop8822

Radioactive atoms decay into more stable elements or isotopes, the time it takes for them to lose half their mass due to this phenomenon is known as half-life.
As stated in the vide astatine has a half-life of 8 hours so if you make 40 g of it, in only 8 hours it will be just 20 g, then 10 g in the next 8 hours and so on until its completely gone. The lost mass isn't gone, just transformed into other more stable elements and a bit of energy (its actually a huge amount of energy for every day standards but a very tiny amount of the atom's mass is lost due to it)
For comparison, uranium is also radioactive but has a half-life of 4.5 billion years.

@@flydrop8822 I thought it was more complicated than that. It just naturally decays quickly compared to everything else. That makes sense and is very interesting. Good video.

bruh I saw 800 subs and immediately thought this was gonna be AI slop. You GOTTA give those thumbnails some life. Or draw the channel icon in MS paint so people can tell its a person.
The moonmoon video looks more alive, but this one's thumbnail looked straight up AI generated. Thumbnails that worked in 2020 aren't the same in 2024!!
