    When you plant the carrots take a ridiculous amount of time getting the soil in the area broken into a really fine texture. If you can sift with a dollar store collander or fine mesh even better and they won't fork out or struggle to get the length. I'm going to plant my in a large pot with topsoil

      Thanks for the tip! I did spend a lot of time sorting through the soil for my carrots and breaking it up, but the mesh is a great idea! I'm finding that no matter how much I sort through this oil, little sticks keep appearing here and there. Ugh!

      @@InSearchOfYummyness there are hardcore competition growers who mix topsoil and sand and sift it for the smoothest and most perfect specimens. It's nuts. Some grow primarily in sand and just use liquid and tablet fertilizers
