- Electrolysis of water results into Hydrogen and oxygen in ration 2:1 by volume. Hydrogen collects at anode as it undergoes oxidation and oxygen undergoes reduction so it is collected at cathode.
this helps me in doing my science exhibition Thank you sir 💯💯
What rank did you get?
Thankyou a lot sir this is what I was searching since the beginning of class 10..and now I have found the perfect channel for that..thanks a lot..please keep uploading videos on the demonstrations and activities..
You explained this better in 10 minutes than my teacher in 1 hour. Thanks.
Omg thanks sir i literally found ur channel in 2022 T_T thanks sir ur explanation is awesome which u were my teacher🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I am in class 8 it was difficult for me to understand..... By nice video👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks a lot for the video sir I was very much confused with electrolysis, this video cleared most of my doubts.
A very simple and easy to understand explanation , it is!❤️😄
Thank you sir I understand very perfectly after seeing your video
Hi there . I got your replay. Yeah your video is good. I learned that Cars can used your wisdom of Electrolysis science since older drivers have problems with eye visions. I think LOBESTONES in Cars pIstons can help older elderly people still drive. I see LOBESTONES can prevent Car crashes also Radium help out as movent sensor with Velostat covered the Car skin.your wisdom in Electrolysis can use Water to salt water in fuel Tanks Cars. Hydrogen gas is more powerful Bombardment then fossil fuel. Thank you again for teaching. 😀😊😇enjoy your day.
Thank you very much 🙏
I don't know know why so many people get this wrong. If you are using sodium chloride in the water then chloride ions are present. This means that you will get chlorine gas coming off the cathode and not ogygen gas! If you use sodium hydroxide then you will definately get pure oxygen gas. Try it. I have done this many times before.
thank you for clarifying this mistake in the video. It's frustrating how many "Chemistry" videos do not know basic chemistry. Anyone who tries this can smell the gas bubbling off and will know pretty fast that it is Chlorine. (be careful, everyone)
I think you mean coming off the anode.
All video super sir thanks for good thinks to world
thank you for explanation and i am studying for exam from your videos
Fantastic explanation. Thanku so much sir

Q1) Sir why didn't the hydrogen ions from H2SO4 get attracted towards the cathode and why didn't they make hydrogen gas
Q2) Sir We have studied that hydrogen ion cannot exist alone in the solution, then how are the existing and moving towards the cathode?
Thank was working of Voltaic cell. This is electrolysis different phenomenon
Awesome explanation and demonstration sir👌👌sir can u pls tell how can we collect the liberated oxygen gas
Thanks.
By keeping an inverted empty test tube over anode and cathode
@@MakeMeScientific thanks sir ,can i do this by placing one end of a straw on tip of pencil and other end of straw in a container to store it. Pls tell!
Try it out...it might work..good luck
Thanks sir👍👍
absolutely loved it !
Wonderful 😊😍
Which type of current are u passing to it??....
DC...as it's a battery
Yes Dc
I am in 8th but I understood everything so well thanks to your explanation sir.
Thanks a lot!
All the best
Which type of current are u passing to it??.... DC or AC...
DC as it is a battery
It was perfect!! thank you
Explained brilliantly!
Keep it up
I also saw ur prism tracing of light ray practical of class 10
Awsome!
Thanks...
Thanks a lot 🙏☺️
Doesn't OH ion gain electron as it -1 and hydrogen loses electron as it has +1?
OH Is negative because it has an electron extra and H is positive because it has proton extra
Therefore OH loses and H gains
Explained in good way
That's awesome. 👍
can this be used to generate electricty and defy the laws of conservation of eclectricity like the arc reactor
We need to supply current for this process. Current can't be generated

Really nice
have u used plastic cup instead of beaker ?
No it's glass only but it doesn't matter even if you use plastic transparent cup
thankyou soo much 100% best explanation

I have a question
Ye jo beaker me pani hai yeh ek time pr akr poora finish hojayega as the oxygen and hydrogen willl be collected in anode and cathode ??
Isnnntt it ?? 🤔
Yes
Wonderful explanation
Glad you think so!
Aapki English ko mera hunar salaam 😂😂
Trying to improve
The present of sulphur in the solution will do not disturb the solution?????
No
We can't separate Hydrogen and oxygen by this method.bubbles is due to heating
We can separate hydrogen and oxygen by keeping and test tube inverted over the cathode and anode the excessive bubbles is due to the chemical equation as 2:1 by volume of hydrogen gas and Oxygen gas
Thank you sir
After doing this experiment how we can collect H2 and O2?
you can follow this demonstration:-th-cam.com/video/qHxDHu9wGAw/w-d-xo.html
Mostly get the hho gas do the boom
Downward displacement of water
Put one one test tube on two electrode in reverse direction. So after electrolysis hydrogen and oxygen is collected in test tube and you can collect.
Thank you for this sir
Amazing 👏
awesome!
Very well explained
Thanks for liking
Awesome video, how can I run my car on it please?
That would be very difficult because the amount of oxygen produced is very very less
Thanks ji
Nice
Sir it's very hard to understand as I m in cls 8
Same
You should clear your basic knowledge first.... Then you will definitely get it.... ☺
please understand the basic atomic numbers, chemical reactions first and then see this video. You can understand this in grade 10.
Won’t that sulphuric acid also breakdown into hydride and sulphate ions? Won’t they also gather at the electrodes?
During the process of electrolysis of water, dilute sulphuric acid splits into when electricity is passed through the dilute sulfuric acid solution. The electrolyte is dilute sulfuric acid (= acidified water) which, during electrolysis is split into hydrogen and oxygen gases.
Water will break into 2H+ ions n 1O- ions. You check yourself, H2SO4 on dissociation 2H ions n 1SO4 ions. Rest you explained well. Thanks
How did u connect the wire with the pencil

Nice video.
Sir why have you taken 4 water molecules l?is it a concept or just random
To balance the reaction
@@MakeMeScientific y only 4 y not 8?
Or any other number?
How can we store the Hydrogen??
Bykeeping and inverted test tube over it
Sir can you make still many science experiment or models for class 9
yes i will. suggest me the video.
Sir, u hv used nacl then why u showed the reaction of water and h2so4......? And if u r using nacl then h2 and cl2 gases will be liberated?
Salt is used because the water was a poor conductor of electricity, so then it can't conduct electricity. NaCl helps it to conduct electricity. And he showed the reaction of H (hydrogen) and O (oxygen) not water and h2so4. Because water is H2O, it contains hydrogen and oxygen only. He have used salt or NaCl only because the electricity or the electrons can pass freely. But this was all about water (H2O) only. Please understand what is electrolysis and electric conductivity first.

Electrolysis project we can salt
Yes
Amazing
why there is h2so4 ? if i remember correctly h2so4 isnt salt, h2so4 is strong acid ?
Yes true. Sulphuric acid in water dissociates and create ions which make water good conductor
Well done but 4OH was not properly explained how it comes about , and you didn't use electrochemical series to explain why SO4 did not take part in the reaction. Why 4
Please see the video from 7:30 seconds. if still unclear please ask again
But how to collect hydrogen in container
you can keep an inverted test tube over the pencils and collect the gas

I think there is a mistake by you:
Anode is negatively charged, so H+ ions will go toward Anode...
Positive terminal connected electrode is actually a Cathode but u have named it as anode
Thank you for watching the video. When we use cell then electrode connected to positive terminal of the cell is called as Anode and electrode connected with negative end is called cathode. In galvanic cells the statement given by you is correct. Refer to this link for more clarification.
www.thoughtco.com/how-to-define-anode-and-cathode-606452
i think anode is positive and cathode is positive,so anions get attracted by anode. anions are negative, cations get attracted to cathode which are positive. it is written in my book class 8th
sorry a gramatical mistake cathods are negative terminal
@@MakeMeScientificanode is posotive cathode is negative
Sir electeons are negatively charged so why they will go to cathode
The are negatively charged so they should get repelled by negative cathode and get attracted to positive??
So why in this video you have said that electeons are moving towards the anode??
Sir please clear my doubt
Electrons will be attracted by lots of positive ions that are attached with cathode as electrons can't travel through liquids so they travel through wires
