Is it just me or I found Nate Ruess underrated? I just realize how uplifting his songs are. His old craft from Fun and his solos, such a talented artist.
It's 2021 and a sudden bout of nostalgia caused me to start re-listening to all of Nate's old songs. Man, I really miss his voice and the days where you could hear it everywhere.
Me too, he was the reason why I leaned English. I really want to meet him and say to him that he was the reason and I'm majoring English for my diploma. I love you so much ❤️
People are so critical of Nate using this for his solo record, he wrote the song with Nate Harold, the touring bassist of Fun. When he seen jack was doing Bleachers and seemed to have quite a lot of invested interest in it (they were touring when harsh light was performed). So when studio time wasn't working and he decided to write his own record he had the option scrap a fantastic tune that probably wouldn't get on a new fun. Record after his album because it would be considered "too old" like WTF, so what he really did was save a classic Nate Ruess song from being sweeped under the carpet. It doesn't matter if Fun. Are together or not as much as I would love to see them performing again, the fact is their three individuals with the right to try different artistic paths and that should be applauded, Long live Nate, Andrew and Jack, three underrated geniuses.
***** Hear, hear...said everything I was thinking. Can you imagine what a studio recording of WTF would sound like? Love the live version on BSWTB, but not quite the same. It would be a serious shame if that had happened to this song as well. Also same as happened to Swans with the Format.
The Musical Girl huge fan of his work too (I actually have a lyric from “Like a river runs” tattooed on my arm). He’s been super successful, wish him the best with Bleachers and as one of the most successful producers in music today!
I love how all of his (and Fun.'s) songs have that sad-but-hopeful quality to them. They acknowledge struggles but also possess a certain optimism. I really like it. It's a really unique mix of sympathy and hope.

Nate, Jack and Andrew wrote this song together. I'm so glad they had a chance to write a song together. I'm sure Jack helped along with other songs and I believe Andrew has also helped.

The future will show that many of those, who are feeling lost or abandoned today, will be saved in the end and many of those, who are feeling safe today, will get lost. These days, the truth becomes clearer with every new day and soon, the confusion of human spirit will be cleared and humans will see keen again. They will realize what brings advantage and what produces misery and they will chose well-being.
