  • This is Atari's first foray into the IBM PC Compatible market circa 1987, pushed by Jack Tramiel after he left Commodore in the murky world of home computer espionage :)

    One thing I noticed during the boot up of this computer was the copyright notices of both Microsoft Corporation and Zenith Data Systems. It reminds me of the Heathkit and Zenith Data Systems computers. The kit form of these computers was marketed under the name Heathkit. The fully assembled versions of the same computers were marketed under the name Zenith Data Systems. Zenith Data Systems made their own version of an MSDOS computer that had better graphics than the IBM PC. However this computer was not compatible with the IBM PC. Later Heathkit/Zenith Data Systems did start to make IBM PC compatible computers.
