- After testing a cross-section of Beta’s 2025 enduro models (including the ‘Xtrainer’, ‘RR X-Pro’ and ‘RR Race’ ranges) on QMP’s vast network of snotty trails, Transmoto’s Andy Wigan and Matt Bernard compare notes about which machines are most likely to suit what sort of riders, and why. With a whopping 18 enduro model to choose from in 2025, this advice will definitely help you target the best machine for you.
Absolutely love my 2023 Beta 300 RR. An Italian beauty. After four Yamaha WR 450’s it’s a really nice change. So easy to ride but also still a bit of a handful.
I rode the X-Trainer at their 2024 ride day hesitantly and was blown away at how much fun it was and its capability. A great package 👌🏼
I wish they would fix the front fork. It's truly awful! I don't know how they could make a fork too harsh, and too soft at the same time. I rode one in Arizona on some very rocky terrain, and it just absolutely beat the shit out of my wrists! Harsh on the small stuff, hard to keep on line, and yet wallowing all over the place. They need to do something about it.
@@twowheelsdown2002 bad frame.... you gotta make the suspension too soft to try and offset the harsh frame, but you end up with worst of both worlds.
@@Superdisco199 Some of it might be the frame, but I still think most is the fork. My 2003 KLX300 fork was way better. That shouldn't be the case on a bike 20 years newer. It deflected off rocks and had me steering all over the place trying to correct my line. Very frustrating.
@twowheelsdown2002 usually the wallowing is the fork and harshness is frame. You can run mx fork settings on a good frame and still won't wreck you on rocks. That's why the kyb are overkill on the beta RE as it's already too stiff, so they gut the valving and you end up with a premium fork that wallow... same on the sherco.
@@Superdisco199 I think part of the problem was the compression damping. Low speed compression was low making it wallow, and high speed compression was high making it deflect off sharp hits. Just a really unbalanced mix.
Remember in the mid 90s when you could buy a new KDX200 for $3,500?
Pepperidge Farm remembers...
I have one, and it still runs 100%
Jesus lads, it’s bad enough with manufacturers hiking prices up nearly every year and crazy Austrian brand prices… don’t tell them they should be charging MORE for something!
WHEN THE 22 Racing models came out everyone (myself included) was saying the fork valving was way too hard, even for fast lads, where are they at now? I always regard the 2020 Sherco range as having the best stock suspension I have tried - plush but supportive straight out of the crate, are Beta there?
One Industries gear, I thought they were no longer around!
Race model is best price, with what it has ! What are the plastic quality like now ? Still brittle ?? Whats the new 350-390 racing like ?
390 is awesome, I didn’t like the 350 much- it seemed to top out so quickly that I found myself shifting constantly to try to keep it in the power to traction zone. My favorite of the 4 strokes was the 500. My favorite bike is the 300race
Which bike is best for hard enduro? Xpro or Race? Which one is best suited to race hard enduro comps? Do they have the same exact motor or does the race have more performance/power?
Listening to you say the price of the race should be 3 grand more than it is already, makes me question the truth of your content. How dare you tell a manufacturer they could charge way more and then make a video like you’re trying to help us viewers GTFO you’ve SOLD OUT. We all see who you’re in bed with and it’s the bike companies not your viewers.
