Another sad animatic for y’all. This series is seriously one of my favorites. Everything from top to bottom, the story and the characters, the world building are amazing. I cannot recommend it enough. You have to watch and read the series if you haven’t. You won’t regret it.
So the animatic revolves around Isabella of her life from her innocent self to a mama. She says farewell to the children as she holds dear the good memories she had before the final climax of the arc.
Isabella is my absolute favorite character of the show, if I don’t count Norman, cause he’s my fave. Her character is so compelling and her motives are clear, and we understand her actions. Also, she’s just a beautiful character to draw overall.
Enough with me fangirling, I have to go to sleep. It’s almost 2am…

Here's the monologue of Isabella in the manga after she replies to Ray, "So that I could survive". This is the continuation which didn't got adopted to the anime:
"I wanted to live longer than anybody else, I was so unbelievably frustrated... To find out that he had been killed. I can't do or change a single thing. And that's exactly why I wanted to do the least I could do... To live. As a human they couldn't eat! But I suppose it doesn't really matter anymore. This is my defeat. Those children have escaped. I am now a useless keeper who couldn't protect her goods. Just now, all of my efforts to reach the top have been utterly destroyed, no matter how hard hard I try to capture those children again I... Perhaps if I had kept krone around... If I hadn't let norman see the other side of the wall that day... The results may have been different. No, It's useless to think of what ifs. In any case it still remains true that I wasn't able to see through the growth of those children. This is my defeat... They were so small... All of them used to be so small... I wish I could have just loved them normally."

I feel really bad for Mom, she lost her true love, she had to face the demons too, she had to go through training to become the 'perfect' mom, she had to have a child for survival. And she basically lost all who were dear to her. Overall, she's a misunderstood character, same goes for Sister Krone.
Leslie is my favourite character and the way you draw him keeps me coming back
