In this video the Plantation manager shares the effect of straight, compound and controlled release fertilizer (CRF) on soil and nutrient loss. On slope terrain, CRFs did not perform well because the rain tends to wash the granules away [3:00 - 4:35]. This suggests that CRFs should be kept inside a bag / mesh, or that the plantation could try to increase the soil cover with legumes or cow grass to restrict the movement of sediments and granules during rain events.
