To all those saying he looks like he’s on drugs for touching his ears: he is nervous and if anything that proves he’s off the drugs. Drugs probably would have kept him calm etc in situations like this, but he seems a little on edge. Paranoia and anxiety becomes worse after you quit and he hasn’t performed in about 2 years. Imagine going silent in the public eye for 2 years, completely changing the way you look and sound and then going in completely confident in your first interview/performance? He is human ya know

@Nuclear agreed mate! Dunno why it has to be "drugs". In older interviews I watched, he didn't talk much and looked uncomfy. So it's nice to see his enthusiasm and openness about the new record.

Everyone saying he’s on drugs again... I would think he seems the opposite. He’s more alert and talkative. Maybe he’s just anxious or a little uncomfortable being completely sober now days in one on one chats? Hope he’s at his best!

His body language and he keeps touching his ear and putting his head on his hand is really defensive which shows like you said that hes uncomfortable in this situation and hes trying to close up to whats around him

He's absolutely not on drugs. He's obviously in his right mind. He's opening up and talking about things rationally.
No... No drugs here, this is what Anxiety looks like in it's purest, but most open form. Yet he still has the balls to get on stage and perform (I'm not even a massive fan of their new stuff, but can appreciate where they're going. Roll on the next few albums. It'll only energize the band and Oli to be a little more comfortable after such a long hiatus.

Anyone that has social anxiety and anything related with that will understand why he's very uncomfortable and not that he's on drugs.It's been a while since he was last interviewed of course he's going to be nervous and not be as still as you'd expect.

Exactly. Plus his ADHD will come into play, I know anxiety comes with that. But you can visibly see it. But he's feeling that and using it, instead of blocking it out with drugs. He seems so much more mature and happy. Love it ❤️❤️

Goh Souza he actually had plans for his ex wife to tattoo white designs on it! That’s why he had it blacked out. Then they separated, so that never happened :( Guess he never really bothered to get it done by someone else.

As a guy who deals with addicts and users daily, he’s sober.
This is anxiety and adrenaline. Doesn’t help that the earring is just a dangling piece of shit. Haha.

to all those who are focusing on his mannerisms its obvious that you have never been under pressure to explain yourselves to the world, especially in an artistic context. Olly deserves respect for how he has grown up in the spotlight and how he lives for his art. I think his words will resonate with a hell of a lot of people and its good to see he is still going strong.

He's come such a long way in interviews from just a few years ago, he's getting older and has matured and has alot more to say...Nice to actually hear him saying what he has on his mind, actually letting people in.
Remember the interview where he just kept saying AIDS to every answer. That was obviously his awkwardness and thought it would be funny I guess. But he comes across so much better now. ❤️
I still remember his speech while receiving best live band at the AP awards,still make me emotional,and really proud that im a fan from the start 🤘🤘🤘

I met him in Portland before a show in 2011. He and the boys snuck out back of the venue and I spotted him and asked for a photo. He was so chill and polite. I was probably annoying but I was a huge fan and he was cool about it.
Oli has changed a lot, he's like more expressive now, more kind to the eyes. I never expected this change on him but I really like the Oli I see now

Oh, if people are saying he looks drugged, then they should know he isn't! He's 💯% sober. His type of nervousness is social anxiety in respect to who he's speaking to and he is also a little depressed, but like he said, what makes him happy is an audience who loves his music. It's his only way of relating - by finding those who understand or desire to understand him. He responded very genuinely in the interview, his reactions were realistic to his answers. He doesn't look like he takes drugs. He might have taken sedatives though, depressers. He looks like a really good guy.

Gallow Wood When "Drown" came out, they said if their new album sounded like that, they have failed as a band. Wouldn't you know it, though, when That's the Spirit came out, it sounded like "Drown." That is not to say it was bad, because it wasn't, but I am willing to bet the entire album feels just like "Mantra."

U are stupid, he's BMTH, maybe 60 % of whole BMTH idea and the reason of that band existent, do u think create all lyrics, vocal style and theme of every BMTH' songs its easy ? all that music without Oli part is nothing, one of the reason BMTH still exist nowdays because oli capability to make every BMTH'songs become catchy as fuck in terms of catchy n cool lyrics and his vocal style not just the music, CAN U IMAGINE bmths music without oli ?, from metalcore, deathcore, hardcore and even poprock become easy to listen like general pop song, look at another bunch of deathcore, metalcore band from their glory era in 2005 -2010... where the hell are they ? "Amo" like the name means Love so I think oli is finally Loving himself and Being more confident but also Gaining more Confidence and Maturity through everything hes been through .and hes been through alot . Love the album so far cannot wait for January!
