Nah this assessment is correct. As a Texan myself Whataburger ain't as good as it used to be, probably because they switched ownership. In-n-out is better now hands down, but if this was Whataburger back in the day then yes it would win no questions asked.

It's open 24 hrs a day, and their chicken and breakfast are decent. That's about where the positives stop. The burger meat is over processed and spongy. If I'm really wanting a burger at 2am, it's better than McDonald's, but I'm not craving for Whataburger.

I talked to someone from the corporate offices and asked her what happened to the meat. She said nothing was changed. Me and a group at Whataburger told her she was lying and we can tell the difference. She ran to the back of the store. There was a change after the sale of Whataburger. I think people are saying Whataburger is excellent remembering when Whataburger was really good.

You speak the truth. I grew up on Whataburger. You learned which Whataburgers to go to and which ones to avoid. The best novelty about Whataburger was that they used to serve their fries in their equivalent drink cup size so you could put your fries in the car drink holder and eat them with ease while driving. I don't know why they stopped doing that. 😣🍟 it was genius! As for consistency though... Amazingly enough, I figured out the most consistent item on the menu regardless of location was actually their fish sandwich which I guessed had to do with its simplicity and/or prep process. Regardless of the location, their fish sandwich always delivered the expected flavor, texture, and quality. I remember preferring their fish sandwich over other burger competitors. 👍👌🍔🍟 However... compared to fish tacos, that's a whole different ball game. 😮😋🌮🌮
So so very true! Also I've found that recently (at least where I am) since the new company I think from Chicago took over the quality has not been the same. Also the workers definitely play a big part in the burgers and how they taste. What a burger is supposed to cook the burger fresh when you order but some workers don't do that.

I’m a Texan that lived in Ca for 27 years, but didn’t have an In n out burger for about 25 years, and when I finally did I thought they were amazing. I moved back to Texas in ‘95, was happy to be able to get a Whataburger again! They were sooooooo good. Years later an In n out opened in Frisco, Tx. we waited almost 3 hours in line to get a burger, what a let down, but to be fair, it was the first day they were opened, it’s years later now, and the In n out here in Texas cannot compare to the California In n out, and sadly (at least for me) Whataburger is not worth eating and is totally over priced! Burger King and McDonalds are not worth eating, in fact I don’t know of any drive through restaurant that has a really good juicy burger in the N Tex area.

As a Texan I had in n out for the first time recently. I asked for bacon on my burger and they said they don’t do that 😂😂 automatically eliminated. Fries were extremely bland as hell and the tomato slices were comically huge. No sauce on the world could save that bland burger. And no one guna save you here in Texas Kev.

They opened up and got new workers, and not even giving them a week to learn how to take care of the store, making the food, or anything they...started. it was jam packed wjth customers, and the workers, majority being teens, had to work through it tirelessly with barely any teachings on what to do. I heard its ass and shit because of this, the food isnt made right, the workers are agitated most the time cause they are confused and jam packed with people to satisfy, me and my family havent gone there yet. Its been months and its still not doing too great

My fav fast food burger here in Texas is Braum's...fresh. They raise their own cows. So their dairy and beef taste so good.
My wife and I are Whataburger fans but we ate whataburger long before they branched out, I get Braums a lot more now because their burgers are arguably one of the best.

I’m a Texan that lived in Ca for 27 years, but didn’t have an In n out burger for about 25 years, and when I finally did I thought they were amazing. I moved back to Texas in ‘95, was happy to be able to get a Whataburger again! They were sooooooo good. Years later an In n out opened in Frisco, Tx. we waited almost 3 hours in line to get a burger, what a let down, but to be fair, it was the first day they were opened,
it’s years later now, and the In n out here in Texas cannot compare to the California In n out, and sadly (at least for me) Whataburger is not
worth eating and is totally over priced! Burger King and McDonalds are not worth eating, in fact I don’t know of any drive through restaurant
that has a really good juicy burger in the N Tex area.

Anybody who compares In & Out and Whataburger is a complete idiot. They are two completely different places.
For all of you people in Texas, In & Out should be compared to P Terry's, and for the Californians here, Whataburger should be compared to places like (he said) Burger King (which has a larger menu). Basically Whataburger does a lot more than just burgers, and In & Out pretty much focuses on its burgers alone.
If I want a bigger menu with things like a Texas toast chicken sandwich, I go to Whataburger. If I want a burger from a place that just focuses on burgers, I go to In & Out or maybe Five Guys.

As a Texan I had in n out for the first time recently. I asked for bacon on my burger and they said they don’t do that 😂😂 automatically eliminated. Fries were extremely bland as hell and the tomato slices were comically huge. No sauce on the world could save that bland burger. And no one guna save you here in Texas Kev.

If the Whataburger where you are at is treated anything like the one near me, than its a given. They opened up and got new workers, and not even giving them a week to learn how to take care of the store, making the food, or anything they...started. it was jam packed wjth customers, and the workers, majority being teens, had to work through it tirelessly with barely any teachings on what to do. I heard its ass and shit because of this, the food isnt made right, the workers are agitated most the time cause they are confused and jam packed with people to satisfy, me and my family havent gone there yet. Its been months and its still not doing too great
