    I appreciate the videos. I'm a rookie and appreciate any and all information I can receive about operating loaders. I have about 20 hours on a machine. It sounds, to me, the more hours you put on a machine the better you become. Experience is key.

    Cool video. I don't call my self an operator. I'm just a runner or lever puller . Before I start mine up I check the fluid levels and I can't stand dirty windows so I clean those . MSHA requires a preshift inspection report. We also have scales and have to do a few warm up lifts to activate it . I've found when digging is more tight piles like shot rock I will level the bucket and then just a slight bump forwards on the bucket lever helps to loosen up the pile . Some loaders have an automatic kick down so if your in second or third gear it will go to first when you hit the pile . I been running equipment for over 30 years and still don't know nuttin . Just a lever puller . Thank you for sharing your video I enjoyed it very much

    Thanks for this video. I’ve been wondering for two years how the pit operators smooth out the ground so well with the loaders. I didn’t know you could make the boom “float”. Every time I’ve tried it I ended up digging a ditch! We have Cat loaders but I’ll guess that the “float” function works the same way. I’m going to try this the next time I have to load my own truck!

    • @HeavyMetalLearning
      @HeavyMetalLearning  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, should work in any brand (sometimes it’s slightly different in how to float it) but in general I’ve found just stabbing the right joy stick all the way forward will lock it forward which is float. Just make sure you only do this when the bucket is all the way on the ground already.

      +ExtremeSandbox Good advice! Thanks

    • @TeeKoon
      @TeeKoon 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe the float function might be defective,if it;s the case you have to hold it pushed foward, have it fix when you have the chance it;s not very long to have it done. You have a switch to have your bucket level too but rise the angle a little bit to be safe...don;t forget to clean your working aera of any rocks or debris before loading your truck, rise ur bucket gradually when coming from a distance close to the truck not too far or too close and dump in the midle of ur box by rising and pitching ur bucket! Don;t try to go too fast too, speed will come with the time.

    • @davidedwards1855
      @davidedwards1855 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +TeeKoon thanks for the reply. I have had the chance to try the float feature since I wrote that first comment and it worked fine on the loader I was using (950 Cat). It was just the operator (me) who didn’t know how it worked before.
