I'm Japan. We are the organizer of the Vienna Club of the European Cultural Research Society. This is a very rare dance. The quadrille is a court dance in Europe, but at balls in Vienna, Austria, the Viennese quadrille is still danced as a game dance. The Philippines has a long history as a Spanish colony, and European dance has been transmitted, and it has become an original dance of the Philippines. There is only one folk song in Asia with a waltz rhythm. It's very nice.
This is our dance in our js prom in highschool 😊😊 with matching waltz in the end . . All kind of Filipino folk dance we've already dancin' ( school competition. Usually when the month of august" buwan Ng wika" . Kakamiss talaga ang high school life😟😟😟
The last part of the dance where they created a big circle has a matching Spanish lyrics: No te vayas, no te vayas de Zamboanga, Que me puedes, que me puedes olvidar, No te vayas, no te vayas, ni me dejes, Que yo sin ti, no puedo estar, No llores, paloma mia, No llores que volvere, No llores que en cuando llegue, Paloma mia, te escribire,
I miss dancing this : It was in my Third year in high school (Junior) when I first dance this, second was on my fourth year (Senior), and the last was when I graduated college in our graduation ball.
The women are wearing a modern version of the Maria Clara called a "Terno". Believe it or not, the dresses of Philippine women were -- and still are -- quite colorful. As to the men, they are wearing a dinner jacket (tuxedo jacket) over their un-tucked shirts. The shirts are un-tucked because Philippine sumptuary laws at the time did not allow native (Indio) men to tuck in their shirts. That is why the Barong Tagalog is proudly worn un-tucked to this day!
Kinda funny that in spanish, in peru at least, terno would be the wore to describe what the men in the video are wearing. That’s the translation of a business or formal suit
ha ha ha.. Why so much hate with the American culture? Visa got denied by the US government? It just so happened that the American culture is different from the spanish..
Arnel Cap I agree some Filipinos are just so hollow minded. Didn’t us Filipinos wanted the Spanish out? Wasn’t it us who decided to stop teaching Spanish in schools? The lack of Spanish heritage in our society isn’t caused by the Americans, it was caused by us. So do not hate the Americans.
@@arnelakawhitewash Not all Filipinos are like you who want to go to the USA. I don't even need a visa to go there, I have a European Passport Lol. This is my personal opinion. I love Spanish culture and I appreciate their influences in our culture and I wish we had maintained them all including the Spanish language.
@@vinzlinardobnimaga7204 I just did a research of the title of the music, without success. I do hope someone can give us the title of the music. Happy New Year!
@na zk Actually, most of "Spanish Dances" we have were actually derived from Mexican ones which was in turn a variation from Mainland Spain although some were composed by the Spanish here.

The name resembles a french baroque dance called the Rigaudon.
Le Rigaudon of le French Baroque dance Suites.
This dance is called Rigodon de Honor.

Rigodon de Honor
Where can we get the step instructions for this dance?
Spanish culture is just pure class unlike the American culture. We should still be having this kind of dance.
Spanish caricature of the French Baroque nobleman being caricatured once more by us, in a good way.
This is still being dance during JS PROM. when I was in high school we dances rigodon de honor.

Instrumentos son bandurrias. Version de Filipinas.
@@jaimeignacio2409 instrumentales son instrumentas con cuerdas usando en rondalla. La Rondalla Filipina es mas bajo que rondalla de espana.
