Maradona allowed EA to use his likeness etc but when he died his family refused to allow it so he got removed

The problem isn’t that the brazilian league refuses to give rights. They 1) have a deal with Efootball already and 2) due to how the law and licensing works there EA would have to negotiate with every player individually
According to “1)” the problem is that they refuse to give rights to EAFC because they have given the rights to Efootball. One thing doesn’t rule the other out, he isn’t wrong, the problem is indeed they refuse to give rights to the game.
@@mantxi1826 Konami has an exclusivity deal with CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) for the national competitions licensing, but besides that, all clubs and players licensing is done almost individually, on a per season effort.
@@mantxi1826so just to explain. If you sign an exclusive deal it does in fact mean you can't then licence to another body.
That would be like Sky paying a £1b deal to show all matches in the UK. But then the EPL also sell the same rights to TNT and Amazon. It kinda dilutes the pointbof paying the £1b

The statement that the Brazilian League is refusing to give rights is untrue. In Brazil each player holds their Image and licensing rights so EA would have to go to each player in the league to have everyone licensed
The brazillian league does not refuse to give rights to EA, whoever told you that, its not true, the real problem is that KONAMI bought rights from Brazil because they did a game after the brazillian league, so CBF (brazillian soccer federation or something like that) cannot give rights to EA because of the contract with KONAMI
