I like the original, but I love this verson better. It's so soothing and beautiful. I hope to get the opportunity to sing this for someone, the way Strawberry sings to Billy in the movie. To a lover.
So much going on in the movie.. the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton kicking ass.. Earth wind and fire, Aerosmith.. so many others.. Joe Cocker.. and Alice Father Sun.. wow.. you are right this is one of my main movies.. I will always love this movie..

It's available on CD for the soundtrack to the movie Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It's packed full of famous artists covering Beatles. Even a couple surprising ones like comedians George Burns singing Fixing A Hole & Steve Martin doing Maxwell Silver Hammer. The movie is totally weird, but worth a watch. This is my favorite version of this song. In fact many of the covers in the movie are.
i love the beatles original version & this version. And I love the movie& the soundtrack. When I was little girl when the movie premiered and it just made me love beatles original album more.
I have been looking for the studio version of Sandy's version of this song without the movie sounds . thanks for posting these songs from this Guilty Pleasure film from 1978.
Now, keep in mind, she’s supposed to be playing a character *named* Strawberry Fields. So, is she singing about herself? “Let me take you down because I’m going to *me?”* That’s a pretty roundabout way of asking him to go down on her.
A lot of people, like rock critic Dave Marsh, think she's pointless as a pop singer, though as time marches on, her voice does sound dulcet and comforting in the right situation. This is not it. This cover of "Strawberry Fields Forever" sounds thin in comparison to the majestic Beatles original, and the only reason it was in this movie was because her character was named after it - hence, she's singing about going to . . . herself. Thank goodness she wasn't named Penny Lane. :D Well, at least this time George Martin didn't have to put tapes of two recordings in different keys and different tempos together. I assume this was recorded from the start with the same key and tempo as the final Beatles master. I think it's not too bad but, as someone who used to like this movie and now hates it, well, that is, I can't, you know , tune in.
The movie is terrible 70's cheese but I've actually grown to enjoy a lot of the soundtrack. I advise anyone to just forget the movie and concentrate on the cover songs which range from corny to OK to pretty good. I actually like Billy Preston's Get Back & Aerosmith's Come Together more than the originals.
@@jamesnoble8205I agree with you on Aerosmith's cover, Billy Preston's cover of "Get Back" is at least comparable to the original Beatles version that he himself played on, and we have to give a tip of the hat to Earth, Wind & Fire for their rendition o Got TO Get You Into My Life."
@@stevenmaginnis1965 I like Maurice Gibbs A Day In The Life too. His singing is good despite the thin backing track which sounds like a cheap karaoke version of the song. Plus that dinky final piano chord that pales in comparison to the original one played on three pianos at the same time
@@dejectedsquadron1182 Ringo is not a great technical drummer but he has great feel, that' why the drumming on the original Beatles recording is so wonderful. Jeff Porcaro's best work is on Steely Dan's 'Katy Lied' and Boz Scaggs' 'Silk Degrees,; not here.
Elevator music. Little instumental hodge podge at the and but the singer does nothing but repeat. Begin, middle or end, a nice voice but blend, no emotion, no soul, no development, no highlight, peak or culmination. Not for me.
R.I.P. Sandy Farina

A really nice rendition of a very good Beatles song!
Love this whole album. Brings back memories. I still have it on vcr tape. Its my cleaning music.
Just what I needed! Been singing this, recalling this voice since my earliest years. This is my jam!
Sandy wiped the floor, with all the others, except John, and He thought, she did it well...
+El Suldrun Are you saying John thought it was good and the others thought it was crap?
John, never liked any other version, but of them, Sandy's was the best....per "Hit Parader" 1978

Not sure who the drummer George Martin used is, but he kind of mucked most of Ringo's fills up.
