Today, I am surprised as the chicks are hatching four days earlier than I expected and I'm not ready! Join me as I scrabble around and make last-second arrangements.
After much planning, we left England 2 years ago to build a new life in beautiful rural Portugal #SerraDaEstrela - It's not been easy, but it has been wonderful.
Thank you so much for watching #HowardsPortugal
I don't really know much about bees or farming or fruit, but we are trying to become less reliant on the shops and to grow more of our own produce, so we thought we'd give it all a try!
Ever wondered what would happen if you just sold up & moved out?
We did, so we sold up & moved out!

Awwwww
New life on the quinta, and you've built a cat entertainment centre too! Happy Easter to you and yours
Thank you! It is amazing how fast they grow!
Wishing you a very happy Easter.
Evening Howard, hope you are enjoying the weather up there as another week of it yet. Around the 8th of April before we see something better so hope you have plenty indoor jobs to do.
I am hoping I can get out & chop firewood for 20 mins...been like being on a North Sea trawler up here today!!
Batten down the hatches Howard as more rain approaching will be there in time for lunch if not sooner. Already had 125% of annual rainfall for this wet season.. Expect warmer weather later this week.
Looking forward to warmer weather for sure!! All the tanks, mines & ponds are full to overflowing...at least it looks like we won't have any water issues this summer!
@@howardsportugal Yes mines the same 35,000 gallons and no need too use it yet, just hope we don't get a repeat of 2 heatwave which the doom mungers are saying.
I cut mine last week in anticipation of a wet week so have enough to last untill Sunday.
Looks like we'll both be chainsawing on Easter Sunday!
Looking at the weather, I think the parade is going to be a washout this year...
@@howardsportugal Wettest March since I arrived here and no I won't be chainsawing as wood all ready in shed just need to log it up with the electric carbon tipped saw.
Mine started hatching a day early, but i was ready for them or so i thought- took me a while to realize their heat lamp is not working at all and i rushed to the shops only to find nobody has any in stock right now!! Keeping them warm with a normal 50w globe connected to a thermostat now until the ordered one comes.
I'm using a 40watt, they move closer if they are cold...no thermostat!!
