Thank you so much for uploading this footage . I was so anxious to tell peterlech, he already added it to his favorites ! We've been waiting for footage of this act to surface . Thanks again !
Amazing, but knowing how this works make this a more believable. Locking one's arm is far easier for holding and supporting weight, than pushing the weight up and with a bent arm. So her arm must be locked at all times. Plus the man is very short and light weight, he is even wearing heels himself, plus people were a lot shorter and lighter back then as well, so he can't weigh more than 50kg. Steroids were in use as well so that is also a possibility, but I doubt it in this occasion. But you never know. Still amazing to watch.
Wow, this woman is thin/skinny, beautiful and very strong !!! This strong woman act has been copied from old 2 trux (60's) to 'new' 2 Trux (80's). Are they related ???
I don't think so, Joan Rhodes never was in an acrobatic duo, only one woman show. Maybe it's a German duo, seem to have watched them on TV show (Zirkus Krone ???) in the sixties.
I have Joan Rhodes autobiography. She sometimes did take part in acrobatic stunts. There is a picture of her supporting three people. One man would have been easy for her. And it certainly looks like her. I would say it was she.
@gato980wood absouitely real. They are of course great, but, if you think almost every health people can resist is own weight standind over hand (inverse position), therefore, is possible that a good trained woman can resist that little man, her arms is ever rect, never make a flexion of the elbow
He is taller than her. If you discount her hight-heeled shoes and big hair (at 0:39) you can clearly see. In fact, wearing high-heeled shoes makes her presentation even more impressive!
+Kinered Yes a very good point. Anybody that can do a handstand could hold their own body weight above their head, balance would be the hardest part to achieve.
Insane. She's a pillar of strength period

Amazing. is this for real? Are there wires helping with the support of the man's weight?
She looks like she's struggling just to keep still while he's up there..not too steady!

This act is Duo Trux, which consisted of Horst and Inge Wierzowicki.
