i love richard's voice. it's so, uh, _sonorous_ - like a great big cat, purring. (yeah, you got me, i totally have the misty mountains cold song as my alarm)
oh, a comrade in waking arrangements then! i myself would never dare ignore this song and return to sleep, though its volume is far lower than its predecessor's (and i may or may not let it continue on as i putter around the house) works like a charm, if anyone's wondering :-)
i don't know about that. he looks intensely majestic as thorin, and it would be telling to mention that the hobbit has only served to _intensify_ my predilection towards well-groomed bearded men with baritone voices (too specific? i think not!) i _do_ prefer the way he looks in real life, though i must say that his portrayal of a dwarven warrior-king (braids, fur-lined coat, leather, chainmail and _the blood of his enemies_ and all) is a very close second. might i recommend the blacksmith scene or any behind the scenes videos where his long locks are tamed? it's a very good look on him, if i do say so myself!
"I can't do voices," he says? I'm currently enjoying an audiobook narrated by Mr. Armitage and he is brilliant! Way more talented than he gives himself credit for. So many different voices and accents - awesome guy! :D
I have just seen your comment. I so agree with you. His David Copperfield is a triumph he does every character amazing. He is a very gifted man and seems quite modest
I love Richard. He speaks eloquently and intelligently about his roles but he seems to turn shy and awkward when asked to talk about himself. He's self-contained, urbane and funny in his own way. I hope to see him involved in excellent projects in the future.
I honestly have no clue how I keep coming back to Richard and Martin's cinemax videos, even though this was first uploaded way back in 2012! These cheer me up so much whenever I'm in a bit of a bad place.
When Richard says "It's funny isn't it?" I reckon he totally said it in that kind of voice that says 'I'm going to hurt you unless you agree with me' XD
Its so interesting seeing them two interact together. One hilariously sarcastic and the other serious and kingly. Richard almost seems shy beside the comedic power that is martin heh heh
Sometimes I can't look at Richard when he smiles.. I feel uncomfortable or nervous - in a good way, I look down, smile and feel ashamed, because of how perfect he is, does that sound normal to you?
it happens to me too. Actually, in the last movie, when he smiled at Bilbo because of he carrying the acorn yet, I kinda felt uncomfortable, and then I felt butterflies in my stomach and a warm feeling in my chest this has happened to me very few times with men, to the point I've suspected I'm lesbian or something, but then I see men like Richard Armitage, big hairy manly bear men, and I realize I still like men, that I'm bi. I have come to the conclussion, because of this, that I like big hairy manly bear men. Men who look like bears, who are manly, hairy but cute, you know? XDDDD
1) I'm actually rather gutted that Armitage, an Englishman, isn't much of a beer drinker because I think he'd be a fantastic pub companion, especially after going through dwarf training. 2) I love the reaction of Martin Freeman, a trained comedic actor, to Richard's substandard joke. So cute.
***** He was the only reason why I slogged through all three seasons. "Robin Hood" was like a train wreck - I didn't want to stare, but I couldn't look away. There's one episode in season 3 that I constantly go back and watch because he's just fantastic in it. As for "Spooks," I only watched the 3 seasons he starred in. I don't care about what came before or after. Either way, he is amazing in both shows, even if both aren't of equal caliber.
***** From a John Cheese perspective, "Robin Hood" seemed to be like the British version of "Hercules" or "Xena: Warrior Princess"...a campy good after-school action-adventure show...bearing a bit of fond nostalgia for those adolescents/teenagers who grew up watching it, but not anything of enormous metaphysical import. :)
Lancie Crumpton that is exactly how I feel/did with robin hood and spooks! there were so many times when I was watching robin hood that I just wanted to throw my computer at the wall...but Richard made it bearable lol. I liked spooks a lot more, but I still only watched the seasons he was in.
Richard is being far too modest when he says he can't do voices. In the bedtime stories he read for CBeebies, he did a range of English regional accents absolutely brilliantly.
I still can't get over Armitage's portrayal of Thoren. The way he could show such extremes of emotion from one moment to the next (especially in "Battle of the Five Armies"), really drew me into the character's torment.
"But what *would* you do, if I had a gun?" Yeah, I watched this for Martin. Gosh, he's brilliant. I'm not even keen on him but I have to commend everyone who is for their taste. So off-the-cuff hysterical.
When I hear Richard’s voice as himself, all I hear is Trevor Belmont. It’s the same with Michael Ironside. When you hear him, all you hear is Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. It’s insane!
(я могу продолжать в то же духе очень долго, благо великий и могучий русский язык это позволяет;-)) From Russia with love to you, mr. Richard Armitage… With every beat of our hearts!
The joke! You know, it took me a couple times before I could understand what he said. His accent isn't hard to understand, he just talks quietly. But it was cute how he tried to make it better the second time he said it.
She walks into a bar, like a pole. You'd have thought she'd have seen it. It took me a few times to understand it. I think it's because it said it too fast, but maybe that's part of the joke too, I don't know, lol.
There was an article back about 2-3 years ago on who could be the next Bond after Daniel Craig. they listed Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Henry Cavill, Clive Owen, Ewan McGregor and a fair few others. Armitage wasn't on the list and know that you say it he's such an obvious choice for Bond; He's got the charm, he likes to drink wine and he's got the physique. Also Armitage has already played an ex-SAS/British Intelligence agent in Strike Back. He fits the role perfectly.
Martin: "Do a road trip with a troll or an orc?" Richard: "Troll." Martin: "Why?" Richard: “Because they're really cracking good cooks. With an Orc, he'd probably just, you know, slice people's heads off." OMG, I died at that part! And am I the only one who loved Richard's reference to trolls as "Cracking good cooks"? No pun intended, but that part cracks me up every time!!
He just seems so low-key and charming. Giggle at 1:32 is the best. And did I hear him right say "I cant do voices.."? Anyone who's seen him tell bedtime stories for CBeebies or his recent Gandalf impression knows he does great voices.
The most attractive thing about Richard is his voice.
Zminchu you can say that again Richard is very intelligent and very modest
Zminchu his face body and voice
The most attractive thing about Richard is Richard.
it is
His jaw
Martins dry humor is the best and Richard is just adorable.
+Emma Romeo you summed it up perfectly. Martin is hilarious and Richard is just everything

Katie Rogers That's good, I like it xd
What joke does he say???
Katie Sue I agree, seeing as I am a blonde. 😀
Okay, that was funny
🤣
I love how well spoken and reserved and almost shy Richard is in this but quite humorous in a sense too.
Yes exactly :) he reminds me of me in a way, funny when you see traits of yourself in people :p

He looked so much better in Robin Hood though. The hair was just too much in The Hobbit.
i don't know about that. he looks intensely majestic as thorin, and it would be telling to mention that the hobbit has only served to _intensify_ my predilection towards well-groomed bearded men with baritone voices (too specific? i think not!)

Ok. Shave the head.

Unexpected you might say
As well as gravity apparently. Lol.
