Still remember being absolutely stoked to play this and the first one after watching Voyager my whole childhood. Honestly the music and the story still holds up for me
I'm absolutely stunned that I've only just learned today that this sequel existed! My late sister and I absolutely adored the first game, we used to play it together on the PS2 after school or on the weekends. We used to spend hours just goofing around on multiplayer in the holodeck. For some reason I remember us both finding it creepy despite enjoying it. I think it was because those multiplayer maps were SO big, empty and quiet... Haha, good times.
4:06:11 - I thought those Tricorder puzzles were difficult, but they are nothing when compared to this. Took me two days and a lot of F5s to defeat it.
Old comment I know, but worth pointing out - this was the Quake 3 engine, and it was the Quake 3 engine enhanced and looking better than Quake 3 did. At the time of this game's development and release, there was the Xbox, and the PS2. Neither of which would have had an easy time running this game, and both of which would have required a significant redesign of the control scheme to actually function, and possible rebalancing of the game's difficulty to compensate for janky controls.
@4:04:00 When I play the hull saboteurs level, the low gravity doesn't let me come down fast enough to do it in time. Is there a way to thrust down? Or is it a glitch with the game? So when I jump I stay in the air for nearly 30 seconds per jump, which isn't happening on your play through.
How is it that no one has bothered to try and run these older Star Trek programs on the 'newer' and much hyped, 'GAMER' computers. These newer computers, with their multi gigabyte graphics boards, should give these older programs a whole new lease on life. Surely, these old programs can be made to run on the newer versions of Windows.
Not that simple unfortunately. Modern games are written to take advantage of modern hardware. At least a part of the code for these old games would need to be rewritten if we wanted to revive them fully. As I recall though, they should work on Windows 11 just not perfectly
An hour into this before I realized the images is cropped. You should have mentioned the cropping within the description. Thanks for wasting my time. Now I must go find a gameplay that captures the entire footage.
lol why would you need the whole image unless you intended to steal the gameplay for use on your videos which is a breach of the ToS of YT. Nice self-incrimination, dumbass
@@mozartsghost9271 ((("""lol why would you need the whole image unless you intended to steal the gameplay for use on your videos which is a breach of the ToS of YT. What about the uploader that literally uploaded a full game for views on their own channel? How many folks viewed it instead of paying for the game? You literally accuse me of the same behavior that resulted in this garbage video existing in the first place. What are the chances I need to piggyback content from other content creators, or that footage theft was my motivation for viewing a gameplay of a seriously dated game? I like a complete puzzle. I am not about to waste over 11 hours of my life on a garbage upload. Trust me, I found a legit version from a competent uploader, and once it finished, I cam, and I came hard thinking about how powerful it made me feel to violate YT's terms of service like a billion other people do on a regular basis. I screen captured 11 hours of another person screen capturing and on and on to infinity which caused a feedback loop in the ground fault isolator, resulting in a multiverse of multiverses. Endless variants of me, screen capturing other screen captures. I love being a grifter! Seriously though, once I seen elements cut off at the bottom, I knew the uploader was an ignotard, which loosely translates to "Ignotarded". ((("""Nice self-incrimination, dumbass"""))) Really? I watch gameplays so I know what the game was like without having to play it. I am not trying to learn unique controls just to play a game that only lasts 11 hours, so I instead watch other people. I am into voyeurism, get it? What kind of SOY CUCK do you think I am? Is that the best insult you could conjure? Accusing me of making an Elite force 2 copycat video? By all means, sick the YT police on me, I am caught red handed after biotch slapping you with a simple comment. How loose is you filthy cunnt, and does it itch you? Are you dirty down there? Because all of the johns in the waiting room need to know.
@@mozartsghost9271 My reply was not for you, it was for the 3rd party viewers that could use a laugh. Claiming not to read a winning comment is what losers do that, lost an argument.
this game really got the peak startrek aestethic that was never surpassed so far

"Assimilation... is futile"
I remember loving that line as a kid
The game was a worthy successor of the first part.
it's sad we never got a third part.

Man WHAT?!?! I never knew there was a second game! My mind is absolutely BLOWN.
What a nice flashback, thanks for sharing :D
I never played this one, didn't even know about it until recently. Golly, I'm pretty excited.

Still upset that this was never released on consoles back then.
Yeah, There was too much "Exclusivity" branding and companies were being forced to pick a platform. They still do it, but not quite as much.

1:22:03 dude you’re supposed to get Jurot’s locker code and claim the I-mod from her locker unlocking it in your arsenal indefinitely
2:42:30 the music reminds me of WOW

If you had turned left at the start of the first level you could have seen a preview of the first boss.
I forgot how much better the character models look in 2
How in the world Chell qualified for the Hazard Team, I'll never know. They should have used Gerron - at least he was pretty.
