Hi I have a question so do you only do modern in marymount or do they have a mixture of genres and you can choose?

Modern and ballet is required as a dance major. Now, depending on your concentration and whether or not you are BA or BFA your track might look different from your peers a little bit. But for the most part we take all the same classes. There is also jazz, tap, embodied Africanist aesthetics known as EAA (hip hop, Afro Latin jazz, west African) and improvisation….those are the genre’s I can think of at the top of my head lol. Each of those have levels. I’ve also heard that the dance department is planning on expanding the curriculum with new styles of dance. I hope this helps a little🥰
