Played with the Crystal beast precon against the other precons with some friends and I fully believe crystal beast could be B if it just had another rainbow dragon. Super easy to get the 7 crystal beasts on the field/gy but for the life of me I couldnt draw the one rainbow dragon. As it is though I completely agree with this list. Someone else mentioned using the better skill for the rest of the series but I think it'd be cool to finish the series with the main skills, then maybe make a bonus episode saying how the secondary skills would bump them up or down. Wouldnt have to go too in depth.
Hmmm that's an interesting suggestion, yeah I saw that comment too and was really considering from this point forward using the better skill. But now I gotta think think which idea sounds better lol. Anyway really appreciate the feed back! :)
This looks about right. Alexis's deck is by far the strongest and most consistent of the bunch. I don't think anyone who's played with the precons would argue against it. Heck, if it had a couple of more warrior-related cards instead of the Ritual package, it would be S-tier imho. Your criteria is also fair, although I think it could benefit from using the better of the 2 character Skills when deciding the ranking. It seems only fair to judge the precons using the better Skill since that realistically how they'll be played. Plus, assuming that the idea is to give prospective Speed Duel players an idea of what each box offers, this could serve as a PSA to just use the other Skill without changing anything else about the deck. For example, Aster's deck gets way better if you use "Looking into the Future". Granted, it still might not be enough to make it C-Tier, just because it has 5!!!!! high level monsters, but that's neither here nor there. "Volcanic Cannon" is clunky, but not impossible to pull off, and when you do pull it off, it can win games. In a format with little backrow removal, "Middle Aged Mechs" often allows you to just normal summon "Ancient Gear Golem" as soon as you draw into it, and a 3000 ATK beater that stuns backrow when it attacks is already a powerful boss monster in this kind of sealed environment. By comparison, the Ancient Gear Fusion-like Skill is a "win-more" card that doesn't help you when you're behind. Granted, I don't think changing the criteria to include this would make any difference in this box, but it would going forward. In the Midterm Box, the default Skill for Paradox Brothers is "Behold, Gate Guardian!", which pales in comparison to "Elements of Thunder, Water, and Wind". In the Shadow Box, Jaden's default Skill is "Ruthless Means", but "Dark Unity" is much more useful. Streets of Battle city might be the worst offender, as Joey, Mako, and Weevil all have precons that work way better with their secondary Skills. In these cases, I DO think the decks occupy different tier depending on the deck. In Weevil's case, the deck is either S-Tier or A-Tier when using "My Precious Queen", while it's C-Tier at best with "Insect Infestation". In any case, cool video, looking forward to the next one!

As someone who just started speed duels a week ago, you have no idea how much I appreciate this! I’m excited to see you go through all of the decks in the GX and maybe even the Battle City sets and starters! I would personally put Chazz’s deck a bit higher; since a quarter of his deck are Ojamas it makes summoning Ojama Knight pretty reliable.
Thanks a ton, ill definitely cover the battle city decks and will eventually get to covering all the starter decks as well. As for the ojama deck i think that the main thing keeping it down for me is the fact that its a fusion based strategy which is typically a ad sign given how resource heavy these stats are.
I would say keep the starter decks in a separate tier list. They tend to have a bit more going on in them than the set decks, so I don’t think that would be a fair comparison. Also, are you planning to address the second skill cards for each deck in this series? Or are you focusing on just one skill each?
Gotcha appreciate the feedback! Also yeah I was thinking of just going over the intended skill but I'm not opposed to covering the other skill as well. I suppose I could give an overall rating of the deck given that it can use either skill.

That being said I bought a second copy of the box to upgrade the decks to give them more consistancy so my opinion might be getting influenced by that. From what I remember my rankings would be. S tier Alexis. A tier Axel. Crowler. B tier Jesse C tier Jaden. Zane D tier Chazz. F tier Aster
hmm interesting ratings, i do feel that getting access to a whole other starter deck and upgrading the decks with them makes a huge impact on how good each of those decks become.

Interesting how some decks are more useful/orderly while others are more chaotic effectively, quite a ton of info to process to really understand it.
