He is about to get canned for losing billions of federal funds and not reporting for years on federal funding in schools as required. State education grant writers said they quit in frustration after a lack of support from him. Walters has vowed in the past not to pursue grants that don’t align with “Oklahoma values.” He cannot keep employees so he blames all of the failures of his district on people who have already quit. I believe this is all a ploy to say he was fired for religious beliefs so he can rack up a big lawsuit when he gets fired.

“This is a war for the souls of our kids,” Walters declared shortly after his election last year at a banquet for City Elders, a national group that advocates for Christian-based government. He went on to claim that liberals are trying to make children hate their parents and the country. “I will do all I can to fight to get that nonsense out of schools and to put God back in schools.”
Walters is a staunch Church of Christ evangelist and his father was a Church of Christ preacher. I do not want my children indoctrinated by the Church of Christ, and their christian advisers which they say will be present daily to advise children in the "true" doctrine of faith.

The superintendent is concerned with accuracy in history, but knows not what he preaches:
      (1) George Washington, the first president of the United States, never declared himself a Christian according to contemporary reports or in any of his voluminous correspondence.
      (2) John Adams, the country's second president, wrote, “This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!"
      (3) It was during Adam's administration that the Senate ratified the Treaty of Peace and Friendship, which states in Article XI that "the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion." (The Character of John Adams by Peter Shaw, pp. 17 (1976, North Carolina Press, Chapel Hill, NC)
      (4) Thomas Jefferson, third president and author of the Declaration of Independence, referred to the Revelation of St. John as "the ravings of a maniac" ( Thomas Jefferson, an Intimate History by Fawn M. Brodie, p. 453 (1974, W.W) Norton and Co. Inc. New York, NY).
      (5) James Madison, fourth president and father of the Constitution, wrote, "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise. . . pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution" (The Madisons by Virginia Moore, P. 43 (1979, McGraw-Hill Co.
