True, Relicanth does seem like it would be a fossil Pokemon, since it is based on (Im pretty sure) the most ancient living fish, the Coelacanth. The Coelacanth is also usually the most difficult fish to catch in Animal Crossing games, fun fact.
That's cool that Pokemon Showdown allows random vs random battles....Pokemon Stadium for the N64 used to have that feature and I thought it was really cool - unfortunately as a kid I almost never had any friends who wanted to play anything competitive.
Most of Pokémon Showdown's rules are inspired by Pokémon Stadium only like Sleep Clause Species Clause Evasion Clause I think the website was inspired by Pokémon stadium only since it came into existence around that time only.
@PoisonousFlame-2001 makes sense. Fun fact, I used to battle Pokemon online competitively back then in Gen 1 and 2....there was a website made by a guy named....hmm it was either KeroKato or CatGonk, I used to get those 2 guys confused....anyway, it was a really solid battle simulator and people used to run tournaments and get fairly competitive. The "Tobybro" was very popular at the time, a SlowBro with Amnesia, Psychic, Thunder Wave and either Surf or Ice Beam IIRC...
@PoisonousFlame-2001 Oh, no way! I wouldn't have guessed Psychic for most Legendaries....I did always wonder why Lugia wasn't Water/Flying instead of Psychic /Flying lol
@@erikmclennan3934 Not gonna lie when I saw Lugia for the first time I thought they were some giant arms rather than winds LMAO. Not sure why he is not water type though.
I just checked due to a running gag among Greek Myth Fans and yup just like Hypnos (The Greek God of Sleep) this god is also the brother of death and resides in the underworld LOL. This is just satire so don't take this too seriously since Romans had many differences in their culture even if some people accuse Romans of just changing the names of the Greek gods and keeping the rest same. (Though if you wish to mention that the Greek God Apollo was just blatantly copied over in Roman myths with 0 change in his description or name then believe whatever you want to believe I guess LMAO).
Hey, since you mentioned that this monster would be a pain to fight with the Switch Axe, I am curious to know your thoughts on Insect Glaive vs Switch Axe now that you have used both quite a bit?
Well this one is difficult to answer properly due to how different both weapons are but I would say that the insect glaive is definitely more versatile than the switch axe which makes it suitable for monsters whose move sets you may not be familiar with. The switch axe is pretty similar as well though it definitely requires a higher skill level to use properly due to it having more high commitment attacks than the insect glaive.
On the Pokemon subject, what is the difference between a normal nuzlocke and hardcore? Nuzlocke means you can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter per new area and all deaths are permanent, right?
A Hardcore Nuzlocke is just a much more difficult version of your regular nuzlocke such as: No Items in Battle (Held Items are allowed) No Breeding Your Pokémon must not exceed the level of the Next Gym Leader's Ace Pokémon If you white out, then your run ends All Battles must be done on set mode There are some other rules that people like to add such as banning OP held items like Choice Scarf and Life Orbs and no pseudo legendries and legendries out of which I only restricted legendries for use in my runs. There are also hardcore+ nuzlockes as well which also include no ev training but I never did that since that is too much RnG for my taste and hardcore nuzlockes especially ROMhacks already depend heavily on the stats your pokemon gets.
@PoisonousFlame-2001 wow, very interesting. Maybe I will do one one day as a streamer - I don't think it would have the patience at my age unless I had other people enjoying the journey with me
@ I would recommend you do it through emulators and hacked in rare candies just like how everyone does it these days. That way you can focus on playing the game rather than killing level 2 pokemon on route 1 or some other place. Afterall as the internet funny man and "Nuzlocke King" Alpharad himself said, "Grinding is cringe and cheating is based".

My favourite type in Pokemon.....is probably Psychic, since I have so much gen 1 nostalgia.
Ahh.... the single most broken type to ever exist in Pokémon. Fun fact, psychic also has the most amount of legendary Pokémon as well LOL.

Fun fact, Somnus is the Roman god of sleep 🥱. In English we still use this root in the word insomnia.
