So I want to move to FL, but lately I've heard that people's allergies are terrible down there. I need somewhere that alleviates my hubby's suffering.

You might first want to visit FL. Every place has unique allergens and people will react differently to them. Next you might consider immunotherapy. Over time an allergist can pump you full of the allergens to force your body to ignore. Overall, because it's warm year round in Fl. there is always something in bloom. It might not be a great place to move if you have constant or severe allergies.
