They still do the donkey rides along the beach there, don't they? My mother told me of her fond childhood memories of going on donkey rides along the beach as a child there. She and her family emigrated to Australia as ten-pound poms in 1969, however hasn't returned ever since, and I don't think either of her two siblings have as well. Both her parents never returned and have long since passed away.

In 1966 I used to drive from Manchester to Bridlington weekly,to see the man I eventually married .We immigrated to Vancouver Canada in 1967….I came back to England for a holiday in 1971 and unfortunately never got back to live in Canada…….Which I regret to this day …I am 83 now.. FORTUNATELY MY SON WENT BACK TO VANCOUVER WHEN HE WAS IN HIS LATE TEENS AND WENT ON TO MARRY AND HAVE TWO CHILDREN …. I must admit when I look at Bridlington now I find it very depressing,,,,,it seems to be a very old people’s place…….But then again …HOW VERY MUCH ENGLAND HAS CHANGED…AND SAD TO SAY …NOT FOR THE BETTER…….
