    I had gotten back my 98 rm250 after it was stolen. It was missing for 12yrs. Got it back as a basket case. I've been slowly rebuilding it for 3 yrs now. It actually took me 3 yrs to find a new expansion chamber for the bike.

    Nothing beats the feeling of hearing the motor run and going threw the gears after having cases split I been rebuilding motor for 30yrs and even tho u don't question ur work if u know what ur doing there is always still margin for error with all the little parts completing a engine especially the transmissions

      Most of the time I don't even take the transmission apart I just take aluminum foil and cover it and tape it up and keep it all together and just replace the crank in the seals

    I loved watching this build. The bike looks beautiful. I raced one in 1989 and it brings back memories. During lockdown in 2020, my son and I did a frame off on a 1991 RM125. It was his senior year of High School and it was his graduation present. These bikes were very competitive wining MXGP Championships with Donnie Schmitt and Stephan Everts. They were also extremely successful in Supercross and also US Nationals with Guy Cooper winning the 1991 title.

      Suzuki dirtbikes are always excellent! Old ones or new ones. Have a sweet 06 RM85 & 05 RM65 in garage my son enjoys. I ride a Yamaha YFZ450R & Raptor 700R-SE sport quads. 👍🏻💯 -Ohio

    Such a beautiful bike. When I do any kind of sticker applying I always get a heat gun or a hair dryer to heat up the sticky surface. So when it’s put down and it gets cold it will stick to those plastics forever.

    Outstanding Work!! This is what I should be doing. I have the skills. I have a ton of tools. I’ve worked on a ton of bikes. But I’ve never done a complete build. I really don’t have the scratch to spare. No matter. You guys did a fantastic job. These are the bikes from my generation. The Golden Age of MX/SX.

    Doing this all yourself, it doesn't actually need a ton of money thrown at it. Sticking with stock parts, cleaning up stuff up, painting or cerakoting yourself you'd be around 3k US all in. He definitely spent a bit more upgrading it, didn't do everything himself, and the wheels and tank probably cost a fair bit. Definitely a nice bike, clearly did a good job choosing what parts to spend money on and what parts to clean up and save money on. A lot of guys blow 20k on restorations and end up with bikes that are worse than the guys who spent time cleaning things up to save money for upgrades,

  • @tylersvensson4468
    @tylersvensson4468 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Who ever spent 20k on that bike needs some serious life lessons. Love watching the channel and I know you know that but the guys crazy. When it’s a dream bike it’s more like a factory bike that you could never get your hands on in that case it would be fine but to get the frame done get the whole bike vapour blasted and not to many after market parts it’s crazy

    excellent production, thanks! I spent the last 2 years fully restoring a crate 1985 CR250. Exact bike I raced pro when I was 22 years old. It's funny watching others build the old bikes and comment, I'm like, yep, yep, yep. I also went Race Tech for the suspension and bought powder coat equipment and did that myself as well as the Harbor freight blast cabinet that I converted to also vapor blast. Probably have about $4500 in it and at least 500 hours of time, brand new everything. Not sure what I could sell it for. People that see it are amazed, it looks like a showroom bike. I've had it out a few times to jet the 38PWK Air Stryker and it rips!

    Question: Was he greasing the inside AND the OUTSIDE of the new engine seals as he was installing them?
    I was thinking if you greased the outside you might take a chance on spinning a seal at some point. Am I wrong about that?

    As a mechanic I often wondered how carbies and kick start idler gears get so mangled on every bike I've worked on.
    Every video and 99.9% of people snap the throttle open and let go.....what do think happens to the slide, stop, and needle/clip?
    As for the kick start.....LOAD the starter instead slamming the gears......treat your bike right and it will serve you well for years.

I been gear head ever since dad asking for wrench, and I hand him a screwdriver🤣c'mon Im' not only one.. 14yr was my first case split.. . replaced shifting forks. Hearing that first smooth Clk'Clik of gear shift was stimulating. You remember your fist; excitment, angziety, your head turns to jelly.. Then RIIIINNNG ! That clean, crisp snap was totally ORGASMIC!! I said all that to say this; FOR GOD's SAKE.. G E T A M A N U A L !!! research research research ; not by mags, , buddies who "know a guy" is a death sentance he will use a sledge hammer case splitter and bore the nik' cylinder. Talk to the racers - PRO -A-B-C .. what's good for pro could get a B racer..killed. if that make's any sense.. MUCH ✌❤🙏 FROM POLAND> GOD BLESS
