I usually make my cards out of playing cards, but I also got some of those vinyl dinner mats from the dollar store and they work great and are more durable than paper. I still use both.
It absolutely does not need to be expensive! You just need some kind of cards, string, and a way to tension your warp. I used my bedposts the first time I tried out tablet weaving.
When you showed that plastic sheet I immediately thought of shrinky dink plastic… Now I think I have to make some from that! First to calculate the shrinkage…
Thank you for this video!!! This looks like a great way to use some of my travel paraphernalia for like, practical things, instead of simply collecting dust/taking up sketchbook space!
How do you get the holes in the same place every time? I made my first set out of playing cards today and the hole placement is super inconsistent, even trying to use a guide to mark them.
Any one try using MD board i started making them then i started to wonder is it too think 4 mm i never have done tablet weaving i don't want to make abunch too find it doesn't work
Sometimes you can find plastic cutting board liners/flexible cutting boards at the dollar store so there is another source for thin plastic sheet
OMG I love the idea of making the cards with 2" biz cards of your badge!

I made mine out of an old shoe box... always felt that they should be wooden cards. Thank you for showing me mine are ok :D
Hey, if it works, it’s valid! Tablet weaving is great because it doesn’t need super fancy or expensive equipment to get started.

Me to myself: i don't need a new craft I don't need a new craft.... wait maybe I do

Came for the tutorial, replayed the plastic wubwubwub more times than I had any reasonable right to, learned some new things. Woo!
Lol! Should I wubwubwub for you next time we’re on a chat together?
@@MissPhilomena YES PLEASE
You can also get a single hole punch from the dollar store.
Plastic folders could also be used. Different colors could be used to help numbering...every 5 or 10 cards.
