In "Whinter Begonia" he's a minor character with a tragic ending. As for the series itself, it ends on a sad note for the main characters, but it's still a remarkable ending. The whole series is beautiful and unique, a must watch.
@@js_deniz I just read this is a BL drama. I just watched some clips for this drama here, but the story doesn't seem to suit my taste. But I like the acting of the actors, especially JT-C and Yin Zheng.

The characters are close friends, often referred to as "知音" (kindred spirits / soul mates) due to their deep and unbreakable bond. People sometimes have different interpretations, but in fact the series explores a unique and profound connection that goes beyond typical friendships or romantic relationships.
You are not the only one who thinks of Leslie, Chen Renxiang's story is inspired by Farewell My Concubine; but (and this is my personal opinion, take it like that) he is not like Leslie's character. Cheng Dieyi loves only one person in his whole life, while Chen Renxiang realizes the value of his lover only when he loses her. It's a 2020 series called Winter Begonia.
