I am pleased to say I saw the late violinist Josef Suk perform twice. I spoke to him once, after a concert. I asked him if he had visited Spillville that year. He had.
Please, use a harmonium. These instruments are underrated, and this is where they really shine. Don't get me wrong, pianos are great instruments, but this is the most sublime piece using a harmonium that I know of. Would be a shame to just replace it.
Das herrliche Werk lässt sich auch gut für Streichorchester spielen. Die Harmonium-Stimme habe ich für zwei Bratschen-Stimmen und einen Contra-Basso umgeschrieben.
This is an excellent version, but I have one by the Vlach Quartet and Miroslav Kampelsheimer at the harmonium (Supraphon SUA ST 50463) which makes me melt...
@@tomasmacalik8985 thank you thank you thank you!!!! I’m convinced this is the exact one that was used in the end credits for ”Julien Donkey-Boy” by Harmony Korine. Have been trying to find it for years, as you can see
Thank you so much for sharing this outstanding performance of a great, but esoteric, work! Where was the photo of the Art Nouveau interior taken? It is BREATHTAKING!!
I've loved this piece since childhood, the allegretto scherzando in particular. Dvorak never disappoints.

This is beautiful - such a unique recording.
For me, Suk, Zenaty & company deliver the definitive recording of the Dvorak Bagatelles. Thanks so much for posting this gem.
I'm playing this in a version without viola -- 2 violins, cello + piano/harmonium. Wonderful music! So Dvorakian!
I agree I agree

Very ethereal !
So pleasant !
Perfect accordance with Dvorak creation
THANK YOU ;)))
Como é belo, ecos incríveis de Schubert no Allegretto. Com todo mérito de Dvorak.

Do you know any place I can find a copy of it? Or maybe upload it to youtube? I've been looking for it forever, incredible recording.
I don't know... Perhaps a vintage LP dealer? Unfortunately, I don't know how to upload on TH-cam.
@@eliotsausage There's a place in France called "Forgotten Records" who have done a CD re-issue.

Maybe you have already found it...
