I loved this video!❤ Your words were so emotive that I felt I was sitting in a beautiful cafe on a hybrid sunny and overcast morning talking about all your currently inked. 😮 Based on this, I immediately purchased the Frank Christoph with Broad (S.I.G) and the Scribo Graniglia with Flexible Broad Fine nib. 🎉 So happy to be able to watch a Fountain Pen channel and see someone that looks like me who loves and collects Fountain Pens and inks just like me. I am now on the hunt for the Manuscript Praline Frosting ink. 😊 Thank you for producing such a lovely and engaging channel.
Your passion, enthusiasm, and personality in all your videos really makes my heart smile! (I’m not sure how a heart smiles, but it’s a happy perfect pen and ink combo kind of feeling!)
I write a lot with my Twsbi Diamond 580 stub 1.1 with no issues. I had it previously with Noodler's 54th Massachusetts and now I radically changed it to Robert Oster Oklahoma City. Statistically I used it more for headings and titles, just because I have several other pens for regular text writing. But now with this green, the text displays a lot of wonderful contrast. In conclusion, as you know, it depends a lot on the ink, not to mention the paper. But to me, it is a real pleasure to write with this pen.
Absolutely, I agree, there are many variables that affect our writing experiences. This is one of the reasons why I'd like to try broader nibs sometime in the future with other inks and on different paper. I want to know what I've been missing with B, BB, 1.1, etc., nibs!
We have such similar pen tastes! I have been looking at that Three Olive Martini by Fountain Telling (so so tempted) and that M800 Brown Black is my grail. I'm already saving up for that for the next pen show! Thanks for sharing!
I just love watching your videos, Kristen. Your SF Pen Show videos were so full of joy and excitement, and they were just infectious. I have the Dallas Pen Show coming up next week, and I have my eye out for the Platinum Silhouette. My medium Platinum 3776 is my absolutely favorite writer in my collection. Beautiful pens!
LOL I'm so passionate about pretty pens that write beautifully! I hope you enjoy your time at the Dallas Pen Show. That Platinum medium nib is so unexpectedly dreamy! 😍
Lol 😂 I love your videos. You are very expressive. I find that entertaining. With so many new pens and new inks, hoping you have few to no frustrations this month. Cheers 🥂
That Omas is beautiful! Also love the combo of that maple pen with the teal ink; hope you can get it working properly. And the 3776 med nib is one of my favorites, a perfect width for me. :)
So glad I found your channel. Girl-that OMAS was giving you the vapors! I love how thorough your tests are, too. I'm new to the (real) fountain pen world (just rocking some Lamps, Pilots and TWSBIs) and it's great to see someone so relatable enjoying it to the fullest.
Thank you! I still swoon every time I write with that OMAS. It's like I forgot how good it felt - except I haven't forgotten. It's just that good! You've got some really good brands in your collection. Welcome! 😃
Looks like September is going to be a great writing month with those autumn themed inks. And like everyone is saying, you have sold me on Omas pen, Pelikan and Platinum. I did get platinum SF will let you know how I feel about it.
I just loved this video! I have the same feelings for a new journal and just cut down the tsubame Notebook that I recently reviewed on the channel to fit in my standard tn- I think the paper is very similar but not the same to the yusari notebook.
Thank you, Simone! So many of these pens are giving me the itch to try another notebook. Fortunately, like you, I have some in my stash that I could explore. I hope the best for our future explorations!
Might I suggest getting some loose leaf CVS caliber filler paper It comes in wide rule and college rule and I highly recomme nd them they are my go to when I am trying to experiment with an ink the paper almost never bleeds and a ream is like less than 5 bucks for 100 sheets. It's a great value and you can get them in composition book too but I like the loose leaf for writing letters :) hope that helps
Thanks for the recommendation! I've heard that the CVS Caliber paper is quite impressive with fountain pens. Before I go looking for more paper, I'll be testing out some of the notebooks I've already got lying around at home 😆
Oh Kristen, you made my day. First I noticed how the Ogiva has the longest chapter in your discussion of the pens. Second, you just described how I describe writing with an OMAS. You can't describe writing with one, you have to experience it. And it's not just the nib, but that OMAS celluloid is just something spectacular. Just curious though, what made you look into OMAS, and the Saft Green? Oh you made me smile. Edit: Did you get a box with the pen? I think the pen is from the early to mid 2000s.
I'm glad that I could improve your day with this one! I had to laugh at my less than eloquent first impressions, but if OMAS pens make everyone else react the same way that I did, then I don't feel so alone. I had heard of the brand before, but I believe you planted the bug in my ear with one of your comments in a previous video: "OMAS, a thousand levels, then Pelikan." I started casually browsing at that point. 😆 No box, just the pen.
hey Kristen, what do you do for your pen's that have baby's bottom? Do you send them off to a nibmeister? I have a Visconti Homo sapiens that has been giving me problems hard starting on down strokes occasionally and I'd love to try and fix it but not sure of the best place to send it.
Hey, thanks for watching! For my less expensive pens, I will try to eliminate baby's bottom myself. However, with my gold nibs, I'm not yet confident enough to fiddle around with them beyond aligning the tines. For baby's bottom on a Visconti, I would definitely send it to an experienced nibmeister to get it corrected. I've had beautiful grinds by Kirk Speer of penrealm.com, Mike Masuyama of mikeitwork.com, and Gena Salorino of customnibstudio.com. There are undoubtedly others, but I can recommend these three nibmeisters based on personal experience. I hope this helps!
Can you see the baby's bottom? If you can, what I would do is write with it everyday for 2 weeks. Baby's bottom can smooth itself out with writing. Only if that does not work consider sending it away. I have rectified baby's bottom myself that way on major culprit; a Montblanc.
I was so stressed out watching your wooden pen roll away. Three times!?! It was like watching a shark attack and feeling helpless. Please find a way to stabilize it in the next video or my anxiety will overcome me. 🦈
LOL I will try my best to bring a roll stop of some sort for the review video. If it brings you any comfort, there was clutter everywhere beyond the frame, blocking the way to the floor 😂

I agree, so glad to see someone that looks like me as well that loves fountain pens and inks like myself.
Oh thank you soooo much for your kind words! I hope those pens serve you well!
Yes, I know how it feels! So glad to have you here ❤️
Your passion, enthusiasm, and personality in all your videos really makes my heart smile! (I’m not sure how a heart smiles, but it’s a happy perfect pen and ink combo kind of feeling!)
Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
You must have bought all the pretty fountains in the world. What a treat for the eyes seeing them together.❤
Yes, they are so beautiful! 🤩

I got the TWSBI Diamond 580 Iris 1.1 stub nib and I have nothing but troubles with it.
We have such similar pen tastes! I have been looking at that Three Olive Martini by Fountain Telling (so so tempted) and that M800 Brown Black is my grail. I'm already saving up for that for the next pen show! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, we do! I think you'll really enjoy the Pelikan when you get it.
@@lifeinspiresdesign I told Karyna that within the first couple months of her making videos.
Great video, that Pelican M800 is on my wish list, thanks for sharing!❤
Good choice! Thanks for watching!
Your 2024 8 pen question video bought me to your 2023 Sept currently inked. Wish I could have met you at the SF pen show
That would have been nice. I plan to attend this year, so if you see me there, please say hi!
I have a new favorite channel! I have so many questions, but i want to comb through your videos first to see what I can learn before asking! ❤
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for watching!
You have great taste in pens. I am really jealous of the 3rd one that looks like water lilies. Gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I'm really enjoying this set of pens.
OMG! I love that Kristin Brooks pen!!!😍 I loved your pen and ink pairings this month. And good on you diving into all the new pens right away.
Oh thank you! Thanks for watching!
Kristen, you really chose beautiful pens! Love your taste in pens and ink!
Thank you so much!

Flame and Spiced Apple are both favourites from the 2022 Inkvent for me, I have really enjoyed using both of them.
Nice! I must admit, I'm loving them much more than I expected. Great choices!
Lol 😂 I love your videos. You are very expressive. I find that entertaining. With so many new pens and new inks, hoping you have few to no frustrations this month. Cheers 🥂
Thanks so much! 😊 I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Cheers!
I like the ebonite Esterbrook too. Really looks classy.
It really does, and I like that I have a Techo nib for it. A classy pen needs a special nib.
That Omas is beautiful! Also love the combo of that maple pen with the teal ink; hope you can get it working properly. And the 3776 med nib is one of my favorites, a perfect width for me. :)
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, the maple and teal make a beautiful combo.
Your Pelikan M800 is gorgeous! 😍
It really is! Thank you for watching!
New subscriber and enjoy your videos and your collection. I need that ColorVerse Iris Nebula…beautiful. Thank you for sharing!!
Welcome!! Thanks for subscribing!
what a beautiful collection, thanks for sharing !!

Nice! Yes, I'm loving these autumn colors so far 😍 I'd love to hear what you think of the SF nib.
You gotta try sailor manyo haha. It's my favorite right now. It's got INSANE sheen and shading in like 3 different colors.
Thanks for the tip! I've always been so curious about Sailor Manyo Haha. It will probably grace my desk sometime in the future LOL!

@@lifeinspiresdesign Yes, I have said that somewhere. Michael's video perhaps. My word is truth!! LOL
The box would have made it a bit easier to date.
You have to splice together when you made the reaction to the Ogivia on Day 1 and your reaction to using it in this video.
Brilliant idea! I need to make some short clips from some of my more memorable moments 😆 and share all over social media.
