wow, very nice intro song! Great review as always. I had stopped watching videos since I am in a break from guitar and have currently no plans on getting new gear. But I am glad I came to this one.
Thank you for making these in depth videos. I just got one of these £239 Amazon 2 day deal! I expected to hate it especially as I'm a Gibbo into a tube amp fan. But no it has been great fun and really useable. You do have to ditch the horrid presets though and as you may expect do some experimenting while learning to use the unit to it's full potential. I bought it to use with my fiddle as it has a high impedance input option. That is today's project. Thanks again.
Hi Leo, this is a great channel you have here, thanks for the work you put in. I think the Matribox 2 PRO is most close to the Valeton GP-200 and if you do another video on it then I'd be very interesed to hear how you think they compare.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you appreciate the video and the performance!!!! Thank you also for sharing your findings and your purchase decision!
Great demo song to show off what this can do. I have the Matribox II and really like it. I do think the upgrades on this unit would make it worth the purchase over the standard Matribox II, if you're going to use it live. Can't wait to see what you think about the Nanocortex when you get one and how it comes with other multieffects boxes of a similar price point. God bless and rock on! 👍😎🎸
Hey Leo! This looks pretty interesting, i wonder when they will post the info on the website, there's still nothing announced on the Sonicake website, as of right now. It also makes me wonder if any of these new features with multiple instances of an effect will filter over to the Valeton GP units, we have not had a significant update to those in quite a while. Thanks for the awesome video as always!
You are welcome and I'm really happy that you appreciate the video!!! Now I think the unit is also on the Sonicake web site: www.sonicake.com/products/matribox-ii-pro I'm not sure if the "multi instances" approach can be easily added ... but let's keep our fingers crossed! Thank you!
I'm a bit confused about assigning effects to tell stomp switches and getting the vol/wah configured. A video for that? Pretty please with a cherry in the top! 😁😎
Looks like a pretty nice unit, particularly at that price point. I think it is a mistake to have an integrated Volume/Controller Pedal, as the additional size tends to preclude it from being able to sit on a desk. I think the Volume/Controller Pedal should be included, but as a separate or detachable component. The large touch-sensitive screen would get more use with the Matribox 2 Pro sitting on a desk rather than on the floor.
Come sempre chiarissimo e bravissimo .

Nice one Leo. I get Hotone Vibes with this Sonicake Matribox 2 PRO with the Preset Effects and PC/MAC Software layout. And maybe a MOOER vibe with the build. I feel like there is one Assembly Factory in China making ALL these Effects Processor units for all the different companies and each Company creates their own effects/amp models etc... They all sound pretty good for the price... but Hotone to me has really cracked the code on a LOT of the pedals and Amps/Heads etc...

Hi, A Gt is for acoustic guitar, E.Gt is for electric guitar. As regards the connections problem...I don't know, I'm sorry. I have a Mac and I was able to connect it without problem. Maybe if you use a windows pc, you need the drivers....but it is better if you ask directly to sonicake. THanks!
Hi, interesting point...even if it is hard to answer...I should do a direct comparison to answer properly. ... for sure it is a good option to evaluate.
(Pronounce "a" "e" "i" "o" "u" vowels as: ah eh ih oh uuh) Compared to the real amps, the unit's amps' sound is like someone talking with colds or nasal obstruction, like the spoken "i" vowels are drowned; but as opposed to someone with colds and less power to speak, the drowning in clarity is caused by the exaggeratedly powered throaty push somewhere between the "o" and "u" vowels that create muddiness, and then it has an in-your-face "a" vowel as if to compensate, whereas the real amps have more of the "e" vowel than the unit... For me it lacks dynamics in the sense that the oh-uh and ah are so boosted, and due to all the abovementioned they clip and alter the tone... A fix could be an equalizer, whether an external post EQ, or making a dedicated EQ in such a setting that will apply to all patches, or copying that EQ setting and editing all your IR's in the DAW with that EQ setting... Hmm but there's already clipping and tone altering of the amp because of those frequency boosts so better if the EQ is just before the amp models; and so the 2 methods I mentioned (the external pre EQ and the IR EQ) are not good... In that way, by putting a fixed EQ block just before the amp models you have fixed the unit's bias and can continue to edit patches using the settings of the real amps... Or best, a firmware upgrade like on NUX MG30 Version 5 which some users notice that it is now less harsh in the highs and gains and has more rounded lows, although I'm not saying that MG30 has been presented like this in the video with same knob settings as the real amps in comparison (I only mean a fix in the tone via firmware upgrade)... In the frequency spectrum of the EQ, from low to high it is u o a e i... Now go find these frequencies 😊
