(HD) Reading and Northern 425: "Pottsville Santa Specials" 12/21/2014

On December 21st, 2014 the RBMN in partnership with the LGSR operated Santa Claus Special train rides from Pottsville to Port Clinton. These trips departed Pottsville Union Station at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, they shoved back to Port Clinton then pulled them back with #425 leading. For the 2nd and 3rd trip they went about a mile south of Port Clinton to Kernsville. I was on the 2nd trip and we were just pulling into Pottsville and Santa just got to the LGSRY ex Blueliner.

This year next month the #425 is running trips from Reading to Port Clinton and return for several weekends. Also #113 next weekend from Minersville. Also Jim Thorpe trips but diesel powered.

Did the train go as far as Port Clinton and return? The ad said as far as Auburn. Hope they do more runs out of Pottsville, I missed them.

Rob their is not doubt that they will be running more trips out of Pottsville. The Pottsville to Reading trips were a great success, and all the Santa trips were a success.
