been all over youtube trying to find this exact style of video...not to much chatter just a quick over view Excellent work Sir! I now feel confident the HW day ruck will fit my needs thank you for helping me make an informed decision Cheers Josh from Northern Alberta
Mines one of the first ones he made it’s the 2015 2014 line. He was still doing some custom stuff to packs then I had him put some Molly webbing on the flap on the outside. I should’ve had him put four loops up top so I can attach something up there. I need to send it back to him and have him add those.
Haha, nice bro. Been a minute since I did a video. Been debating getting back to it but tbh, sometimes I just wanna do all the camera work when I'm out there. Just need that mental and spiritual reset, and to disconnect for a bit, ya know? Love you homie. Hope you and that army you built are doing well. 👊🏼
Awesome video! Malcom @ The Hidden Woodsmen makes nothing Bombproof gear! Love every single piece of gear I own from him including my 2018 DayRuck. Really nice setup & gear you have Chief!!! Glad I subscribed to your channel. God bless to you and yours!!
Nice gear dump video . The pack looks really nice. I would have one if I didn’t get a different overnight bag. Love the design though. Thanks for the nice review. Great job! I like to eat too 😄😄
Thanks. For multiple day trips I love my ULA Circuit. They make really great quality packs as well and have several options. I highly recommend checking out their website. ULA-Equipment.com
What a great pack and to be able to pack that much gear in really good video and enjoying all your videos so far keep them coming buddy thanks for sharing a.t.b Andrew
Nicesetup, but what about food and food procuring items you should have a sling shot or something along with a few snares ( traps ) and some fishing gear ( hobo fishing set ) for just in case. Also something for protection.
I don't feel the need to publicly share what I carry for protection, especially on social media these days. But trust that I am well protected. I appreciate your other advice as well but unfortunately I am not a hunter and that's not what my channel is really about. I am well confident in the skills I do possess though and know if it came down to it, I could take care of myself. If you like trapping and such along with bushcraft I recommend Dave Cantebury. He may be more your speed. Thanks for watching
What size are the compression bags your using for clothes and top quilt? Also what color combo is your pack? I ordered the ranger green and coyote. Can’t wait for it. :)
Jason Vassallo I use the pillow dry bag by Zpacks for my clothes, it's 5.6 liters according to their specs and a similar sized dry bag for my 20 degree top quilt. This is also the ranger green day ruck, phenomenal pack! Thanks for watching
Great video on some awesome gear I’ve got a gen1 haversack by Malcom and A no longer available 10’X10’ tarp I’ve had them for 4 or 5 years now And love them the quality of Workman ship Is fantastic Can’t go wrong with Hiddenwoodsmen gear
Jason Helmandollar Thanks brother! I worked hard for the gear I have, that's for sure. I started with some very inexpensive gear that wasn't that great. Thinking of doing a video using the gear I started out with just to show people they don't need to spend an arm and a leg to enjoy themselves.
Somewhere Outside I bought my first axe not long ago, it’s just a council tools Hudson Bay axe and I like it but think I’d like to upgrade here soon. I’d surely be interested in seeing that video.
Nice video nice backpack nice gear but you forgot to add one thing when you brought out your your underquilt you forgot to mention what type of hammock you have and by the way that DD tarps are fantastic I shall be getting one for myself shortly I already have the DD hammock quilt and the DD underquilt for my hammock
cgriggsiv Thanks bud! Appreciate your support. Trip video will be up towards the end of the week. No hammock for this trip. I use my DD tarp on my lean-to and sleep on the raised bed I built. When hammock camping I use a Chameleon hammock by Dutchwaregear. Love my DD tarp tho! They make great gear
Great review!! I like how you tell what they were- please do that with all your gear for each trip video you do. Only negative thing is maybe practice it before you tape it, so you won't say "& um', so much. Thanks!!
Janice Thurman lol, I almost didn't upload the video because of that. Didn't realize it at the time or I would have shot the video a second time. Thanks so much for your support though!
As a guy who can make a 50L pack last a week worth of trekking over a couple of hundred kilometers, I cannot bring myself to use a bag with no lumbar belt/support... This is a great looking pack, but it truly is just a daypack - It would kill your shoulders if you loaded it up with any more than 12kg (26lbs).
😂 That was a triple IPA. If I drink, it's not cheap beer like miller. Lol. Try to keep the channel kid friendly though so didn't feel the need to advertise the couple beers I brought with me.
i don't get why people take so much on an overnight ussually i take a haversack and a mule collar bedroll with a tarp for a shelter if it might get rainy and it surfices just fine
I don’t understand why anyone would buy this. It’s an undersized ruck that has loops on the side to attach the gear that you would put inside a regular-sized ruck. You should tie your blanket into a pack and save the weight and money.
🤣 It wasn't part of my kit and don't want to condone any bad habits to any young ones that might be inspired to enjoy nature by one of my videos. It's been almost 2 years since I posted this video. You're the first one to have noticed. Lol.
Ok.. I gotta ask this question, and don't get me wrong I'm guilty to , Why the hell do we all spank our packs lmao , every body I ever see in the woods or watch on here always spank their packs
You get what you pay for and Malcom makes these by hand right here in USA. If you prefer to support Chinese made garbage, you are free to do so. It's what makes this country so great. What also makes it great are people who don't outsource their products overseas and dedicate themselves to their craft. I'll gladly support small business right here in the States and spend my hard earned money as I see fit. Have a good one buddy 👍🏻
@@erickmayer1736 I have some less inexpensive gear that works too but I'm a gear junkie and may have a small problem. Lol. I can honestly say though, I think all of the gear I showed in this video is worth the price tag. All excellent companies with quality products and amazing customer service.
@@SomewhereOutside fair enough....your vids are well done...but I'm coming to a point where its getting harder to find something new to me to learn....keep up the the good work...sounds like in your comments lots are learning from you.
@@erickmayer1736 Thanks man, I really appreciate that. I'm no pro, just enjoy the woods and sharing my adventures. At the least, I hope I help inspire others to spend more time in nature. 😊
wait...no white phosphorus grenades?...Nothing sez bushcraft like the warm glow of white phosporusness. Wet wood or wet boulders...it all lights up.
Best comment I've received to date! Hahaha.

I have the same axe... I've built an incredible bond with it.

It looks like a shrunken czech m85 backpack with nice straps. Looks good
I'm jealous. That thing looks sweet!
Nice review.
Nice! Looking forward to the next overnighter.
That's pretty good you got the majority covered, sleep system but you do need a fast military type tent, and your good to go
This is my bushcraft loadout. Built a raised bed, threw the tarp up and good to go. 😊
Nice no-nonsense kit! Subscribed.
woodyandy2001 thanks for your support, glad you enjoyed the video
If you center your pot on a bandana before you slide it in the pouch it's alot easier to get out.
Great idea! Definitely going to try that. Thanks for the tip.
Enjoyed the video. It's amazing how much gear you can load into the pack. I purchased one also and it's great. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment. Glad yoy enjoyed

Malcolm is a top guy, selling top packs and gear.👍
Sweet pack and nice gear :) Thanks for the video!
Nice load out.
Thanks man
Any chance you'd get rid of this one? I don't think Malcolm makes the 25L any more and this is the exact one I wanted.

i like your kit but for anything more than a day hike i would want redundancy on the cooking pot, i only saw one.
Is this a 15 or 25 liter version?
