My wife and I plus my older brother and his wife were on this trip to Toowoomba and back. My memories of this trip include the raw power of the machine, actually accelerating up some of the steep gradients on the way to Toowoomba. On the way back we were running a little late so they poured on the power and we roared through suburban stations at a tremendous speed, belching smoke and soot and making the most magnificent noise - people waiting at the suburban stations were in absolute shock at this magnificent machine roaring through the stations (while they waited for their quiet little electric train). It is an absolute tragedy that the government has seen fit to mothball this incredible piece of Queensland history - even if they had to run it at a loss, it would be a magnificent sight to see on our rails again. I for one would be only too happy to fork out the required dollars to experience this wonderful machine again.

As were Myself and Girl's, Beautiful Trip, Lots to see and do and on arrival at Toowoomba you could have a Dinner Courses at Platform One or take a tour of the prize winning garden's in a area, Went by Buses and the work that into these Garden's of Plants was absolutely Amazing to say the least.
The Highlights were standing on the balcony between Cars and a Stop and Spring Bluff as we awaited to a late running Empty Coal Train heading out West and had two lots of 2300'S on the Front.from their we Steamed to Toowoomba Central where upon person's were allowed to walk around Town and the Shops or take any Bus Trip to the Prize Winning Garden's to View and then to do a tour of Picnic Point.
A great day organised by the A.R.H.S. and coming back down at Night was a Real Blast with Burner Open and she never missed a beat !!.
Home to Roma Street, Straight Home and started to Produce the best efforts of the Journey but standing on the Balcony between Cars was a Highlight to take stunning pictures,
As well as backing Up the Locomotive Into Toowoomba Platform after and down range to Spring Bluff on Departure as of that time when I hoped down I sat back in the Car's with my Girl's, Through Murphy's Creek, Helidon, Grantham, Gatton and Laidley and up the Liverpool Range where that Iconic building Home was located on top of the Range, I got to Stay in charge of her until we Departed at Rosewood where we lived.
A Superb day and although you may not get that Exhilarating trip i had the Trip is Worthy and Spectacularly Amazing.
    Regards
    John Woodall
