I remember watching this and it wasn’t only MPs. Tommy also went to see Lord Pearson he brought this grooming gangs scandal up in the Lords a lot of huffing and puffing by others in the house. Then a certain Baroness intervened. I won’t say no more only Tommy had just as much right to be in the Palace of Westminster as any one of that bunch. Thank you for sharing this Paul

Thankyou Paul. Below, is an extract from a Masters essay I wrote last year (Social Psychology).
"On January 18th 2020 - to rapturous applause - a journalist was awarded the Free Press Society’s Sappho Award in the Danish Parliament. (Video 1) Some fifteen months earlier, in October 2018, in the British House of Commons, Speaker, John Bercow, had described that same journalist - without any hint of contention from the House - as, “a loathsome, obnoxious, repellant individual”. (Video 2) The journalist in question was, of course, Tommy Robinson. By this stage, the TR phenomenon was widely known, and - to the British Establishment, at least - cautiously feared.
These vignettes illustrate the disparity of reception to what is essentially the same man holding and sharing the same concerns. They also indicate that the TR phenomenon had a growing international influence and that the British Establishment’s response was, at the very least, tacitly monolithic. The Danish example is understandable inasmuch as the conference would draw like-minded people who admire Robinson and his principles. The second example is more sinister in that it suggests ‘groupthink’ in a forum where this should rarely be the case. Disconcertingly, it brings to mind the human tendency to comply and unite uncritically, as exemplified in classic experiments conducted by Milgram and Asch. (Op cit. ) It also reiterates Pilkington’s observations concerning academia’s ‘cordon sanitaire’ and the manifestations of overt, covert, and even introvert methods of political silencing. Some commentators speculate that the machinery of government can bend to worldview-instantiated directives of an elite. The title of Robinson’s first book, his autobiographical Enemy of the State, was more than a subtle hint as to his evaluation of the political ‘state of play’."

Thank you Paul. I remember well the Speaker's unforgiveable vilification of Tommy Robinson after that MP spoke so horribly of him. It is a classic case of shoot the messenger. "Vilify and smear him to try to render his message incredible then no one will point the finger at us". All they have to do is get through a few years in the public eye, collect their salary and pension and disappear into the sunset. The young women are scarred for life mentally and often physically and Tommy has PTSD from numerous stints in solitary. The next lot of politicians come in and continue the cover up and smearing hoping to bury the scandal and destroy Tommy for good. It doesn't work like that. Elon Musk has thrown a spanner in the works.
God wins. Always. In the most unexpected ways.

I sometimes wonder why there are so many reporting restrictions on court cases. Yes, I'm sure that they are sometimes necessary, but are they always justified? Years ago we used to see TV reporters giving daily reports on high profile cases. That doesn't seem to happen so much now - and rarely in the case of grooming gangs.
