Needle . I loved it when you talked about the recipes. When I married I received a metal recipe box full of handwritten recipes that I loved and used for years. Fast forward about 25 years, and my niece had been married about 5 years we were sitting around the dinner table when her husband began talking about his grandmother passing. When he mentioned her name I realized it was the lady who had given me the recipe box so as much as I loved the box and recipes I gifted them with the box. It's such a small world sometimes and I almost felt like I was the simply the keeper of the box for the purpose of passing it on to her grandson.

One new thing I have tried is stitching on higher count linen (back in the 80's & 90's I only stitched on Aida 14 count) so now that I am returning to cross stitch I thought I would try some of the beautiful linen and other cross stitch fabric that is available-also something new I have tried is watching Floss Tubes (I never knew there was such a thing available) and yours was the first one I watched & now I can't miss a one- I am an avid quilter and now a cross stitcher so I am always on the lookout for that perfect Needle-Thank you both for all your encouragement and inspiration to all of us stitchers

Dear Liz and Shellie, a couple of days ago I got a flurry of emails asking about my miniature knotwork kits! Someone told me they saw it on your channel and they had to try it! So I had to find out what this channel was. Your enthusiasm and joy are so contagious!! I am so honored and thrilled that you would feature my work amongst your lovely choices! I am usually available through my website to help people with questions about working this technique. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Teresa, when my friend Susan showed me hers that she got at the Silver Needle I of course loved it because I love stitching all things small, but I also thought she was nuts too because that many french knots seemed crazy to me😂 I tried it though, and of course fell in love with it!! Your instructions are so detailed and easy to follow. Thank you for that because I have poured over that book on my first piece! I was so excited to share about you and your beautiful designs, and love that so many have ordered and are trying them now too!!! I will be purchasing more for sure!! Thank you for watching us, and for your kind words!!
      Your new forever fan-
      Liz❤

What is the fabric and fabric count on your Prairie Santa? How many strands of thread did you use? I have many Prairie Santa patterns. Beautiful projects! Congratulations on your fair entries. Your right, ribbon or no ribbon, it’s fun to participate. I entered knitting and cards this year. Maybe stitching and quilting next year. I enter something almost every year. Liz so fun to see you enjoying some knitting and using Ravelry. ❤❤❤

Your saying of always learn something new, I live by, because my mother in law at the age of 60 many years ago started piano lessons and in 2 years his teacher told her she now could teach it. But I didn't wait until there weren't any children under foot (seeing I had 6 children). I have been quilting nearly 50 years, as well as sewing clothes for my family, started crochet in 1974, and knitting in 2005. Two years ago started tunisian crochet, and this year in Feb. I started cross stitch. So far I'm on my 7th project which 6 of them are finished. Just love your floss tube, and how you mix your things you talk about, it's just like a regular conversation.

Shellie and Liz you both are amazing. Shellie congrats on your red ribbon. It’s so exciting to be recognized for something you put so much time and love into. I won a red ribbon on a quilt I made for my son. I was so excited when I walked into the room and saw the ribbon on my quilt. It was first time entering a quilt in a quilt show. Liz I started to tear up when you said your grandma’s quilt blocks smelled like your her house. You both have inspired me to try something new. I think I am going to try a Teresa Layman pattern. I am not a fan of French knots but that pattern you have looks beautiful. Always enjoy watching your videos. Can’t wait to pick up my project and put my needle and thread through the fabric. Happy Stitching❤❤❤❤

Really enjoyed this latest flosstube video of yours, Shellie and Liz. Love seeing your projects and especially appreciate the encouragement to try new techniques, designers, fabrics, floss and crafts.
I was introduced to the designs of Teresa Layman when I fell in love with her sweet gingerbread houses that were featured on USPS first class stamps (emphasis on FIRST CLASS 😍) in 2007ish. I thoroughly enjoyed going down that rabbit hole and after reading her books about gingerbread and miniature house design, I used some of Teresa's designs while making gingerbread houses. I love so many of the stitchery designs on her website and I bought Leave a Light On, the cross stitch pattern.

Always enjoy your flosstube. There is so much one can do with a needle as they come in all different sizes. You are never to old to try something new. My grandmothers were both ladies that did handiwork with their hands . My fathers mother would make quilts out of old woolen coats, they were lovely and warm in the old homestead.

Oh Shellie, sorry to hear that you were sick. You have had a rough 4 weeks! We were watching your last video when you had cut your finger and Allie turned to me and said "Grammy, maybe we can go to her house and help her take care of her chickens because she hurt her finger." Allie loves chickens and was so sweet to say that (not realizing of course that you probably live about 12 hours away, lol). I am now anxious to try stitching with the wool and will have to get a size 20 needle! Liz, I will be attending the retreat at Hobby House too so hope to see you there!

Hi Shellie and Liz. Stitching on a new start, A Study in Blue I purchased at Stitch Con annex, and watching epi #16.
As a quilter, knitter, cross stitcher, crocheter, and painter I love seeing all your projects.
I had to STOP and make a beeline to Ravelry to purchase Wintersonne Cowl. Very pretty. Then you pulled out Goldfish Memory 😍. I made one for myself then one for my SIL who loved mine. My Ravelry is ShesAManiac named because that’s what I turned into when I started knitting in 2015. Go Liz!!!
Now back to your flosstube to see what else you ladies are into. 😊

Then you two need to go to Hamilton, MO, to Missouri Star Quilt Company, if you enjoy Hancock's so much! That's a bucket list visit that I completed in 2018. I went through Paducah on that trip, traveling from ND to MO, to NC, with stops in Nashville, Sevierville, TN, to Jefferson, NC, back to Louisville, KY, back to ND. I wish we had stopped in Paducah, but didn't have the time in our schedule, because we were planning to meet my daughter in Murfreesboro, to meet her daughter, my youngest grandchild, for dinner that night we went through Paducah, to Nashville.
We (hubby AND I) had a ball in Hamilton, even though he wasn't sure that he would, but was being a good sport because he knows how much I enjoy quilting. I got him installed in the man cave there at one of the MSQC shops, and he was quite comfortable while I was able to browse through all of the shops at my leisure without having to stress on him being bored. Then we ate at J's Burger Dive on Main Street, right in the midst of the MSQC shops. BEST burgers, fries, and homemade shakes using real ice cream, all made in house. It's worth the trip!

Such a fun episode. Congratulations Liz on how well you are doing with the knitting. So funny you should mention Chick-fl-A in Roseville. I picked my grandson up from school and did a couple of clucking sounds and he guessed it. Yep Chick-fil-A for special treat. I will be checking out Those Missing Stitches as I love to buy local. I met Teresa Layman at a miniature show in April and bought The Elizabeth Vine kit. I haven't started it yet. Her work is fantastic!!!
