Thank you for the tutorial. I am assisting another instructor's student on these, and I appreciate your review. It has been 20 years since I used these and tend to convert to decimal conversions. This made my explanation more efficient. I gave this student a link to your tutorials too. On a side note, some of the comments below gave me application ideas to share too.
I teach surveying and they have to do these calculations with total station measurements. I love that you waited til the end to simplify - makes a lot less messy board. We need to subtract from 180 and 360 a lot so we represent them as 179 59 60 and 359 59 60 to avoid having to borrow right up front. Thanks so much, this is a great video.
When subtracting, why when the lower DMS is bigger than the top DMS, do I get a different number if I don't flip the subtraction problem? For example 47 degrees 29 mins - 71 degrees 18 mins, when you flip the subtraction problem you get -24 degrees 49 mins but when you solve it as is, you get -25 degrees 71 mins.
You would get -23°49' and 23°49' . You have to do largest minus smaller in these, you would just change the sign of the answer. Since it is in degrees and minutes, you would still have to do larger absolute value minus smaller and just keep the sign of the larger original value.
Degrees can be negative. It just means you did the smaller minus the larger. If that is what they asked you to do it is fine. Just make sure you set it up correctly. Negative degrees mean you rotate clockwise instead of counter clockwise.
U have to convert first term into degrees minutes seconds format. So that we know 1°=60'. So convert 0.76° to minutes by multiplying 0.76 with 60. Then if decimal comes again that part have to convert to seconds by multiply the decimel with 60
If you're allowed to use a graphing calculator, they will do the conversions for you. This is how to do it with the TI-84: th-cam.com/video/OMP3G7XOfbU/w-d-xo.html

Are there examples with decimals?

I love you
What is the value of sin70°11'=?
what app r u using for this
I use a free screen recorder to record. I write in SmoothDraw with a graphics tablet.
How about if there is no given minute in the minuend but you have to subtract with a subtrahend containing it?
Borrow from the degree and change it to 60 minutes.
@@MathandStatsHelp thank you. It's a great help.
What about division?
Please explain how to fine the value of triangles and their types
This video was very nice 100000\1000000
Use a scale to find their length
Woh such a soothing voice ...hope ..that I get a .. partner like you...yoh ❤
😊
Guys 1hour(60mins) is 15* not 1* (1* is 4 mins) Correct ans --70* 3' 25"
I don't understand some parts. I'm learning this online without an instructor so I'm lost:
Please divide 268 degrees 50 minutes by 15
what if you get a negative degree??
Degrees can be negative. It just means you did the smaller minus the larger. If that is what they asked you to do it is fine. Just make sure you set it up correctly. Negative degrees mean you rotate clockwise instead of counter clockwise.
Maam how to solve
59.76°
- 51° 21' 47"

i still wanna cry idk what im doing ughhhhhhhhhhhh
