Wth??! Oh wait you like generic Hollywood type girls with too much airbrush and makeup caked on them, with unrealistic body and habits. I wish films could go back to the days when it was about telling the story rather than the cheesy pastel style that seems to have been adopted in films and shows. People actually dress like this and have hair like this more often than not. This is Adele style Also, she is laid back but with a flare of tomboyish personality. She isn’t supposed to be polished.
Obviously, English is not my first language! But in this case it was really hard for me to translate in few words what I was feeling in French: Grandpa was probably a macho when young, but now he must take care of his diet, because of whatever chronic desease he's got. Now acting childlike, he asks for his wife if "he is allowed to eat mustard". Perhaps it should have been translated by "mustard is right?". I don't know. In French the expression he uses is very childlike in purpose, like "Mum, may I..." It's a very stereotypical situation perfectly scripted and played. I'll very appreciate a better translation.

Another funny scene, but it adds nothing to the plot. Quite contrary - Adele suggests here that Thomas is important for her, while he absolutely isn't. Lack of this scene emphasize this fact.

They even filmed a scene about it in which Adele's parents found Emma and Adele naked in the bed, but the director cut it out, and I don't know why, since it was one of the most important parts in Adele's history.

I like this scene. It shows more of her family, which I thought wasn't included as much as I'd like in the movie.
