Move idea for you crystal release: crystal dome- defensive and offensive jutsu. Used as a shield similar to gara’s sand dome. Used to trap opponents and throw crystal daggers from the outside in a similar manner to haku. -hope you like it 😅
I don't think i like Crystal relase being headcannon'd here as water+earth... That's one too many Water+Earth combinations, it already has two... I much prefer Kiba's explanation from the anime, when he throws it out there that it's possibly Earth+Lightning. I would even prefer Earth+Fire since heat and pressure are the main factors in the formation of gems and crystals.

And mist is inconsistent, since it is a phenomena born out of water it seems like it's more of a natural byproduct of other styles rather than it's own: There is Boil/Steam release, which is fire and water and could probably make a mist like cloud; Ordinary water release can make mist too also; and finally there's whatever the hell Mei is doing with her Boil and Lava release that turns into acid mist... And yeah, Earth and Fire does make Lava but my point was exactly that if Water and Earth can be combined twice to form two different releases (mud and wood) then I think it would be better if the Amagi didn't added a third, and instead either made it Earth+Lightning or added a second combination to Earth+Fire for making Crystal. It would fit infinitely better imo, since Lightning has the heat and the "spikeness" for the crystals and so does Fire.
Absolutely love your What If Series, from one story teller to another, keep up the great work :D If you do that Crystal Mirroring Jade Crystals, it would be badass if your OC fully developed it when you get to the Shippuden era

Also, he could have eyes which allow him to control it better, but he has to evolve it and make it better and it could give him like special abilities. Another suggestion for a technique would be flying rajin where he uses cristals with his chakra instead of kunais with formulars so he wouldnt run out of ammo and can plaster a whole battlefield with markers and be harder to hit
I think it would interesting since Ethan is able to take inspiration off jutsus is that he would take some inspiration of Gaara's Sand Armor. It would probably look like Aang during his fight against Zuko and Azula.

It really does feel out of place. The Boruto era names you reference are unique to kara and Amado's cyborgs- none shinobi and artificial human beings (like Kashin Koji). Their names were intentionally made to reference computers. Hence: Daemon, bug, and code being obvious examples (and Ada's more subtle). That aside, they aren't entirely out of place during an error when computers are employed across the world (thanks to mass industrialisation and tech booms). There isn't really a good reason for a random shinobi clan to just have "Ethan." It feels like a Kira Kira name- I just don't see that happening in the time of the konoha 11's childhood.

Maybe you can also take storing your chakra in crystals to the next level. With the end result being you summing the chakra filled crystal and using it to perform large scale ninjustu
