I live in Trivandrum Kerala. And please understand I do not conduct personnel classes. But I am daily asked by many viewers to take personnel classes. I used to reply them saying that they do not need to spend money and they can learn from the comfort of their own houses in their convenient time from my videos. And I generally write the order of videos to be watched. So I made this video, so that I can reply the viewers to watch this video and follow the videos suggested in it. If you follow all the videos you can really self learn. All you need to do is to understand that you can self learn. Watch the tutorials many times and original songs also many times. If you hear more and more, your hearing knowledge ( we call it "Kelvi Njanam " . The knowledge acquired by hearing. It is easy to acquire. You can hear while doing some other work like combing the hair, brushing the teeth, house cleaning, cutting vegetables, cooking etc)
All you have to do is watch all the videos many times. Hearing is very very important. So before writing down the notes and before start practicing, watch the tutorials many times and you will be amazed about your progress. I am giving my mobile number . If you have any doubts you can call me. 9567600487
The link I am giving below is in the title, " A complete guide for flute beginners. watch all the videos suggested in it.

Good day ma'am and thank you. I couldn't find these shrutis listed in Melakarta ragam. Is there a name of this Ragam (not just kriti name). Thank you for any clarification, I am new to studying Carnatic and Indian music

This is a tamil movie song. Not all cinema songs follow any particular raga. Only some of them follow clearly a particular raga. Ex Yamunai aatrile , Janani Janani follow Kalyani ragam . Somg songs are based on a particular raga to some extent, not fully 100%. On the other hand Carnatic songs clearly follow a particular raga and there are raga maligaas as well . If in a carnatic song, you find a anya swaram (foreign) note, we call it apaswaram. But film songs are not like that. They generally do not follow any rule. They purposefully add anya swaras for beautification. Just watch as many tutorials as you can and as many general songs as you can. That is enough . You will understand that there are thousands of cinema songs which do not belong to any raga. I generally do not pay attention to the raga of songs in general and the raga of cinema songs in particular.

@@learnflute-bhoomaparthasarathi Thank you! This helps a lot. For example, I am studying veena but was trying to use the swaras mentioned here. I know some artists like Rajesh Vaidhya etc sometimes play Carnatic kritis following ragas and other times film songs such as Tamil ones so this information helps me a lot since I am a relative beginner just starting with my guru relatively recently.

Mam, thanks for the tutorial. Can you recheck the pallavi portion? It is on fast pace in the song, but this flute version sounds little slow in pace.

I generally reduce the speed of the TH-cam video for learning and I practice also in that slow speed only. It is easy for me. It will be much easier for the learners also.
